      Very ODD SLEEP PARALYSIS SCENARIO!!!!

Okay i hope you all put your input here, last night i had gone to bed around 3 in the morning and as soon as i fell asleep i went into a dream i was walking arounda dark country road and i just got overcome with pure utter fear, ahead of me stood MEDUSA( WITH NINE SNAKE ARMS) they all just grabbed me and i was in sleep paralysis unable to move for at least 5 MINUTES!! JUST TRYING TO GET UP OUT OF BED, I COULD HEAR HYPNOGOGIC SOUNDS and i decided to try to relax( after all its the BEST TIME to go lucid) but i just had a false awakening, iv had frequent SLEEP PARALYSIS OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS, i thing i like it LOL, because if it comes on i no i can get lucid!!! its an amazing state to explore and i never felt a presence in the room like others do(although each one are after very short nightmares allways) like someone turns evil in the dream out of nowhere, so how often do you guys GET SP, do you ever wish it upon yourself or explore the state, once you lose the fear its very interesting!!! ok see you later!!1

Yeah, it's pretty strange. It's kind of scary, but when you have it often, it really doesn't matter anymore. I used to get it bad, but just voices now.

I don't think I've had full on SP yet, but I am kind of scared to see what it's like after all the other things I've heard...

i've had sp since i was around 3, and i've had at least several hundred of them. the most in a row was probably between 15-20 times in a single night, and that lasted for a couple of months , needless to say, i was terrified since that was when i was around 10-14 years old, but now it's very seldom that i have them, and i know about lucid dreaming now too so if i do have one i know what to do.

Wow, that's a lotta natural SP.

I've been getting SP at the beginning of the night every few months since I was 16. And during naps too. If I bring myself out of it and try to go to sleep again I will go back into it immediately, so usually I'll either wake from it and stay up for a while or transition into an LD, dream for a while, then wake and go back to sleep. My LDs almost always start as FAs when I transition from SP, but I'm lucid the whole time.

For me it will always trigger fear. This is because it brings on the physiological reaction of "fight or flight" rather than a psychological fear. My mind is calm since I know exactly what's going on, but the adrenaline pumps nonetheless and my subconscious summons hallucinations to try to justify this physical state. These attempts at scary entities are usually pretty humorous to me because I'm not afraid of much so they don't scare me. In fact once I found a "frightening" entity so funny that it disappeared!

It's always an interesting state to experience!

yeah, when i was a kid it terrified me greatly, but i only ever told a few people about it, until now of course. before i even knew about lucid dreaming, i use to imagine myself flying while it happened and always there would be a "frightening entity" as you've said, and it would catch up with me but i always fought back lol. it's pretty funny looking back on it now, but back then it was truly frightening. i literally remember being in a crib of some sort and it happened to me, and the house i was living in at the time signifies that it started when i was 3. ironically since i've discovered lucid dreaming, it's been happening only once every few months or so, especially if i take a nap (which i rarely do anyway).

I have had a couple of SPs, no visual hallucinations. Only sounds, like breathing of some strange creature behind my back and so on. And everytime it happened after a short nightmare.
