Smile Do you bounce? or splat?

That is the question here, which occurred to me while making another post. In your lucid dreams, when you have attempted to fly and failed, did you bounce when you hit the ground? I always bounce. Does anyone splat? How do you bounce? I bounce like Neo in the Matrix. Ground reacts and pushes you back up so you only hurt your pride. If you splat, does it hurt? I want to know!

I land on my feet. It doesn't hurt.

This reminds me of one of my attempts to fly, upon falling to earth at a ridiculously fast pace, I deliberately avoided crashing into WATER in favor of THE GROUND. That makes sense. Actually it might, considering I couldn't swim until recently. Neat.

I've only managed to really even hover once, and I hovered partway through the blanket on my bed before I realised this was impossible in the real world and woke up. I never actually landed, but it would have been only a couple of inches to fall anyway.

well i guess rather you splat or not depends on your mind state. If you believe hitting the ground will hurt you then you may feel pain if not then no. You could b like me and just make ur self able to endure pain and a simple splat would b nothing

Well, when I trained flying on LDs I was the enemy of floor, it was painful, with sound, and bad <.< So I started training small altitudes to don't get hurt... So no bounce for me.

I never fail to leave the ground, I just fail to get above about 7 feet high. Either that or I do, then I worry I'm not getting high enough, and find myself back down at about 7 feet.

I never fail to fly....but i sometimes cant gain a great height tho.
But when i come down i always land slowly on my feet.

If i start flying from the ground, that is usually when i cant gain
a very high altitude. If fly out a window tho, i can fly as high as
i want. Also if i climb something high like a house or a pole i can
also get up into the sky. But from the ground im not good at height.
But in here ive thought of some other ways by other ppls ideas.
Sometimes i want to land on the ground, but then i cant get
back up very high.....next time i will try and jump really high and
then take off flying from up there. Or ill just try and levitate to
a high altitude. What ive always tried to do before is to swim
from standing to a high altitude, but the swimming technique
doesnt work for me very well. I was surprised to learn in this
forum that the swimming technique is a normal thing to do. I
have never before had any instruction on anything i do in a LD.

I love flying in my dreams...so I got good at doing it over time. If I am jumping off of a building or something I will always jump to fly; however if I am in a non lucid dream then I usually wake up before I hit the ground. If I do not wake up then I assume that upon hitting the ground I switch dream scenes without knowing it.

This is from an earlier post that can be found here.
The other night I had a LD in which I was flying/climbing a huge tree for fun. It was easily 200 feet tall. I got to the top and this skinny dude was standing there. He asked my why I wasn't afraid. I'd just been running around on the branches like a monkey.

I said "Look! See!" Then I took a swan dive off of the top of the tree. I was fine until about 10 feet from the ground. Then I wondered if it had been a wise thing to do.

I hit the ground. There was this weird instant while my vision and body morphed, trying to decide what had happened. I could feel my body flowing around. Had I splattered? Did I bounce? Did I turn into a ball? After that weird instant I found myself laying face down in the dirt. I stood up, brushed off, and took a bow.
So, in my case the answer is none of the above. And it didn't hurt at all!

I don't splat, I do more of a thump. A painless thump that I can definitely feel.
I am a man. I have nothing to show off. I am just a person withnothingexcept for what I would like to show off, which is nothing.

      I've never actually "fallen."

Whenever I fly, I always get close to the ground and slow down and just step down.
