      Closing eyes to control dream not working well?

      Well I'm a newbie to LD, but in a few lucid dreams I had I always tried to control it (summoning/changing scenes) by closing my eyes, focusing on the thing I want and then opening my eyes again. It never worked. (But as I said, I'm still a newbie and had like 3 LD's) I just read lightdreamer's first LD experience thread below and noticed he also tried to summon things by closing his eyes and failed.

      So I thought it might be more common. Did any of you had trouble controlling your dreams using this method when you were new to LD?

      I still can't summon people or things. Tried closing/opening doors and lots of others. Been able to do pretty much any other thing I've been trying to though.

      All I have to do is just think of something that I want and it's just there
      when I look around for it.
      When I want to change scenes, I just fly to the location, and that always
      works for me. I have not yet summoned a certain person yet but I'm going
      to try that soon. Nicole Kidman was in my LD the other night for some
      reason, but I did not summon her, she was just standing there by a
      door. lol

      for me, i imagine doing the things, don't try to do them. remember, its your imagination, if you try to do something, it doesn't happen, cause its your imagination. also, damn buggy wont go squish !
