      Another dud.

I had a lucid last night which was another crappy one
Wierdly the same person i havent seen into 5 years appeared in 2 dreams in one night, long story short voila, i was lucid.
I calmed myself down this time which is good. I looked around, took in my surroundings, ran my hand along the ground and felt the gravel.
Feeling stable enough, i started to walk around and BANG. Someone dropped their breakfast bowl into the sink and i woke up.

      Just a few questions please
      1. If you get woken up by an exterior sound and dont move, would it be possible to DEILD and slip back into the dream?

      2. Could my dreams be ending becuase i am realizing the dream near the end of the REM period(does this improve over time)?

In this case, I think you woke up from the noise, not because your REM period ended. But I wouldn't call this a crappy lucid dream just because it was short! You calmed yourself and stabilized the situation, which is a sign of high lucidity. Judging by this, you've been doing a great job learning lucid dreaming, you just had the dream at the wrong time at your house!

You could slip back into a dream if you DEILD. Don't stress, and passively visualize the dream continuing. Try to recreate a feeling of sleep, even if you are pretending.
