      maybe we shouldn't

I've read a bunch of experiences where the dreamer reports being told from some unknown source something along the lines of "STOP LUCID DREAMING! IT'S DANGEROUS!" and stuff like that. what's that mean? maybe we shouldn't be lucid dreaming. if it doesn't matter if we do, what doesn't want us to LD and why?

      hey

hey, what did you do when learning how to lucid dream? how long did it take you to learn? what methods did you use? how old are you? how much sleep do you get in an average night? thanks. i wanna try and clone your behavior, hopefully it'll show good results for me.

I agree with docthory. I think some of us that have been Lucid dreaming for some time now would have seen some ill side effects from it. In addition to that you do not have to LD if you choose not to. Therefore if you feel you are getting some side effects from it then you can stop.

ok i was sleeping one night and i had a dream.... then in the dream something happend that i knew was imposible to happen. (i think there was some guy runing around grabing every ones chest (mostly girls)). so i was like thats impossible to happen without him getting slapped a few times. so i then look on the net the next day for dream control i found this site but didnt register untill recently. i wanted to see if i could do it again before joining a hoax site or something but sure thing i did it again. by then i forgot about this site. but a few months ago i found it again. so i say it took me about a month to learn to do it again. the methods that i can do is regular ld and i think WILD. i am 16 i get about 8 to 9 hours of sleep per night and dont clone my behavior unless you are willing to be my slave.

I've been lucid dreaming for about four years now...and just recently, within the past 2 months I have been lding on a regular basis...sometimes I get a dry spell for a week, other times I will have like 10-20 short lds in one morning/day, other times I'll just have one long one at night. But my lds occured spontaneously, I didn't force them...therefore I do not think they can be dangerous. I do believe that your mind needs a certain amount of time to "recompile" through dreaming, so I don't think every dream you have should be lucid or else you might be tired during the day. I do notice that when I have lucid marathon mornings (about 10 short lds one after another, some WILDs, etc) that I am extremely exhausted, like it takes alot out of me. I could go on if I wanted to, but eventually I make myself wake up b/c its too exhausting.

he was just agreeing with you, don't complain that he misspelled your name.. psh

i dont think theres anything unhealthy about lucid dreaming. people may think that it interfers with your subconsious to realise fears and anxieties through your dreams, but i think lucid dreams help you too because you are consious about your actions in them so you're able to control what you do and be able to apply that in life.

      probably not

I am guessing that the people who wrote about lucid dreaming being bad for you
and to stop doing it, etc. are people who started it without knowing what they were
really doing and got freaked out by it. Otherwise I can see a case made by someone
who felt they were attacked by evil spirirts of sorts. But do not worry, do not fear.
There is a greater spirit of good which will protect you.
Just a friendly reminder to do a reality check. : ) Are you dreaming? How do you know?

no, i started consciously but in my first lucid dream, right after i realized it, all of the people in the room started like... attacking me and then i come on here and hear people saying they dreamt of a voice saying "STOP IT!". just a bit worried. btw, it's 5:30 in the morning and i just woke up for a lucid dream! horray! (first one in 1.5 years). hey, how do you know if you've had 1 lucid dream or 2?

When I first went to bed after reading about LDing, I was quite nervous for some reason, it all seemed a bit sinister. This was before I found DV.

During my first LD, I was at a computer, and someoen was IMing me, telling me that LDing was wrong, and that I shouldn't LD.

I think for me it might have been a bit of fear of the unknown or something. But after my first LD I was just annoyed at the evil person telling me to stop.

Seriously, there's nothing wrong with LDing, but I think sometimes it seems a bit scary when you're new to it.

I've been lucid dreaming for 13 years now. Only good side effects for me

I'm wondering... It sounds like maybe you have some doubts about whether you should be lucid dreaming. Could these doubts have manifested themselves as the crowd around you telling you to stop?

My suggestion is to keep practicing your lucid dreaming for a while longer and see if you become more comfortable with it.

In my first ever LD I had a warning of sorts that there where things that would rather I did not LD, perhaps that was what you where getting at. I’ve also heard of a few other instances of warnings now and again from posts here. More than likely it was the manifestation of my subconscious fears over LDing at the time.

Maybe there are some internal conflicts between the differnt aspects and egos when they tell one to stop. So if you keep on LD this egos maybe fear for theyr lifes somehow... in a good way for you. Maybe your mind is up to something it dont want you to become aware of... be afraid... be very afraid!!
