      LDs without reality checks?

I haven't been into LDing for a while now on account of school, work, and such, but recently I've been having dreams where I'm conscious and in control, but without RCs or any previous intent. Sometime's I'll know I'm dreaming, but other times the thought won't even occur to me. I guess it could be called an automatic LD or something...

Anyone else had anything similar happen?

      Luckyyy haha.

I just remembered... in one of the dreams, I almost felt a sort of external force making me lucid. Any idea what that could be?

I have to admit, I kind of hate you people who have these effortless lucids.

      ^.^

      It's cool though

I've been trying to reality check all the time, but my first Lucid still ended up me being like "Oh, I'm dreaming!" No reality checks necessary. They just help you have more lucids, from what I've heard.

I actually almost never do reality checks in dreams. Just the realization that I might be dreaming is usually enough to make me realize that I am dreaming.

Lucidity just sometimes occurs. Sometimes it doesn't. Usually it does at some point, now - thanks to DV, I'm sure.
Life in a box is better than no life at all, I expect. You'd have a chance, at least. You could lie there thinking, "Well. At least I'm not dead.'

Sorry to offend if you are an atheist, but could God want you to become lucid?

i think reality checks are all about the mind.

when i first heard about lucid dreaming i thought of it as a console game, in which you do reality checks to switch it on.

at the moment im trying to get good at recognising / identifying my different states of conciousness

ha maybe ryu, though i'd prefer a goddess haha

i'm thinking the force sensation was a fluke, since it only happened once. oh well.

oh and pond, how are you practising that? isn't it hard to realize other levels of consciousness, since we're only used to the normal level?

x2. I just had my first LD yesterday and it was just spontaneous. I just knew right away that I was dreaming but did a RC anyway to further prove it

I am almost afraid to RC because I know the littlest 'something' can end the LD. Sometimes I have to if the scenerio is a bit dangerous. The other night I was in Atlanta (in a LD) and the side of a large building blew out. There was a small airplane that crashed near me so I did a RC and jumped on top of a telephone pole... then I woke up.

      god?............. hmm prolly not
Insanity is the mind's only effective defense against reality.
sometimes dreams are so good that it hurts to wake up... .
