      Was I lucid?

I'm really not sure if I actually got lucid, or dreamed of it. Excerpt from my DJ:

      ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Dream 2. I was in bed, with my cat sitting on top of me, completely motionless. I decided to do a lucid technique that I don't believe exists, but it took about 5 minutes until I was in a dream (in a dream). I was at the front door of my house, and I quickly passed through the door. I sort of crawled through it floating off the ground a bit. I flew up to the roof, where an old woman, who looked kind of like the mom from Two and a Half Men, was waiting. Possible dream guide? Hell if I know. Any way, she started talking, but I don't remember words, so I flew off. I could only get about 40 feet up. I fell. I hit the ground hard, and sitting up my vision almost didn't look real. First of all, everything else was normal, but black and white. I myself could only see my arms, like an FPS or something. I sat up, trying to bring color back, so I spun around a bit. I still wanted to do 2 things: Get naked (It's a dream. Who cares?), and use telekinesis to cut down a tree like Sylar. I kept spinning, but I cut down a tree. . I woke up as I was taking off my pants.

      --------------------------------------------------

I see a bunch of errors now, but I wrote that at like 6:30 in the morning.

Anyway, I'm not sure if I really did get lucid or just thought I was. It definitely was a dream within a dream, but I went straight from the final dream to reality. The method I used to lucid didn't make sense, but then again I was already dreaming.

The thing that keeps getting me is that I didn't smell or feel anything. Most of my dreams are like that, but I've heard people talking about all 5 senses working in lucids, rather than just vision and sound.

Before bed that night I kept telling myself to become lucid. Did I?

      Thanks!

Hello, Souperman! First off, what you experienced in the dream was a FAS. (False A-Sleepening.) The opposite of an FA. (False Awakening.) In an FAS or an FA you can very much become lucid, as the FAS or FA soon turns into a fully-fledged dream every bit as real as your first dream that night. Okay. Where you lucid. First off, keep in mind that this...
I've heard people talking about all 5 senses working in lucids, rather than just vision and sound.
is only true for vivid lucids or people who happen to have good DC. (Dream Control.) Vividness has nothing to do with lucidity. LOL, (Level of Lucidity,) is ONLY based on how aware you are that you are dreaming. If somewhere in your head you know you are dreaming, but it is not on the forefront of your mind, that is a low LOL. A mid-level of LOL would be knowing that you are dreaming but not knowing all the implications of that. (This is an LSD- Lucid Sort-of Dream.) A high level, what is reffered to ass just 'being lucid' is knowing and fully comprehending that you are dreaming. Get it? So based on that scale, how high of a LOL were you at?

      Hope I helped.

DISCLAIMER: Most of the acronyms, excluding FAS, LSD, and LOL are only used by me and will not be found in the dictionary. They are still good and valid, however.

      "(It's a dream. Who cares?)"
That's all I needed to hear.
      You were lucid.

I love getting naked in dreams, feeling the wind tickling my body, doing naughty stuff with naughty dream characters...

Oh, and yes, you were lucid.

Thanks, that explained a lot. I've heard of dreaming of lucidity, and wasn't sure if I was then. =D
