Thread: Morphing to retain lucidity

This morning I awoke from a series of dreams and decided to attempt again at gaining lucidity. So I went back to sleep and visualized my bathroom. Almost at once I appeared there and went directly to the mirror. I looked into it and saw my sisters face, for some reason I had the idea to change my face into my own. It took me a couple of moments but once done I checked my hands and they were fine.

As I walked out of the bathroom I was a bit disoriented, I assume from lack of practicing. It was either me or the scene kept tilting in different directions. I, once again, had the same idea to morph the scene so I did and it fixed the problem.

While going through the lucid dream I went from item to item to retain the lucidity, trying to not let things startly me out of it either. However I got to a point where I couldn't morph anylonger nor would new items I saw keep me luicd and I felt it slipping until I was back in the bathroom cleaning the floor.

1. Has anyone had experiences with morphing and 2. What would be the next step since the items and morphing no longer kept my lucidity?

I've heard of rituals to prolong the dream, and rituals that increase lucidity, but I haven't heard of anything that /retains/ lucidity. I suppose it could be a self-confidence issue. Towards the end of the dream, you may have lost confidence, or feared losing confidence. As dreams are fueled by the expectations (conscious and non) of the dreamer, even /fearing/ losing lucidity could result in the loss of it.

Correlating dream stability with lucidity, I'd suggest you work on stabilizing the dream rather than profoundly changing it. Rub your hands together and take a minute to examine the details of the dream, ending the technique by proclaiming aloud that you know you are dreaming.
