Sorry to hear your experience was unpleasant. However, it's not very productive to fear all lucid dreaming merely because your first one was bad. You mention that "you didn't know what you were scared of." That's a sign that if you were more aware of your dreaming state, you would have realized this in the dream, and ceased to be afraid. Identifying illogical points in lucid dreams helps you to avoid those illogical reactions in the future (within your dream, that is), so for that, good job, and keep it up.
Remember, nothing can hurt you in a dream. There truly is no reason to fear. Imagine yourself, in that same dream, but knowing this. What would you have done next?
