Went lucid my first night after hearing about it.

So, I never really even looked up lucid dreaming. Never heard of it.

I watched Avatar the other day and my brother said "I should learn lucid dreaming." If you've ever seen the movie, it is just SO amazing that any lucid dreamer will love it.

      That was three days ago.

Yesterday, around 10 PM EST, I started watching youtube videos by ReeceJones87 on lucid dreaming. I stopped at 11:07

      They included:

      The 5 layers
The 5 layers (more explanation) parts 1-5
      Layer Zero
      DreamScape
      Lucid Dreaming for Beginners 1-3
      And maybe others.

So, that same night, I had a "false awakening" i think it's called. I dreamt that I was waking up in the middle of the night in my bed. Everything was still dark.

So I lookde at my hands, and my ring & pink finger of my left hand were blurred on their left sides. Nothing other than that really, except that I saw my digital clock. I turn it off and put my bass guitar tuner in front of it cause I hate lights. After seeing that and my hands I thought "I'm dreaming."

So I got out of bed (in the dream.) and started spinning around in the center of my room.

As soon as I stopped spinning, I was EXACTLY where I wanted to be: in Pandora, with Tsu'Tey and Neytiri. I was Jake Sully. I'm a nerd, I know.

Of course, it wasn't a scene from the movie. It was like a small beach island, a few of them; I was on a cliff with docks leading out. Assasin's Creed II references heavy, cause there were poles in the water after the dock was broken. I rubbed my hands together and started walking instictively, (ReeceJones87 said to keep walking if you come lucid walking. I didn't but instictively I walked)

I could feel ALL my senses. My dream was VERY vivid, down to the glowing dots on the na'Vi skin and their stripes. The folds in lips, the leaves on trees in the islands, and the light bending in the clear water, like that of the bahamas.

So I could feel my legs when I was walking. About that point, I don't realize it's a dream. I guess I got over-excited and lost lucidity, but didn't wake up. I could smell the salt, and it was like reality, WITH my glasses on.

I guess I brushed Neytiri aside and kept walking across the dock. The Tsu'Tey dude started shooting at me with his arrows from a nearby island. LOL

So, Assasin's Creed II references again, I jump onto one pole, then he shoots again and I jump off and dive into the water. You know how in that game it breaks their sights?

Well it didn't he kept shooting. I felt the water as I dived in and all. I don't recall ever getting hit, but I blacked after that. Didn't wake up, just blacked.

I also recall a dream that same night where I looked at my computer screen. 3:16 PM. I looked away for a reality check and looked back. It was still 3:16, but something didn't feel right. I had a heavy feeling it was a dream, however i don't know if I knew it totally at the time.

Again, this was my first night. Never had a dream journal, only an hour of watching videos before I went to sleep.

I wanted to go to Pandora so right before I slept I watched a video of Avatar with the song Fireflies by Owl City, since it's pretty relaxing and like a fantasy. I may watch the other one tonight with that Frontlines song by pillars if I feel like a fight.

So what was going on? Any feedback/comments? I forgot what I was going to ask so yeah..

I hear it takes people literally years to be able to realize it's a dream within seconds and go exactly where they want to and create their own vivid environment like that. Then I guess I shifted down some layers and lost lucidity after a few seconds in Pandora.

I'm doing this on Day One.

I also believe it's better to not realize it's a dream and have full control over it once you get to the fantasy you want because then it'd be no fun, having control. I had senses, I could feel my legs when I walked and everything. But what fun would it be to CONTROL the storyline after that? I'm glad I lost my lucidity, actually.

Not glad the dream didn't last. At least, what I recall.

Congrats on your first lucid! Actually, on your comment about storylines, I would say that it's actually better to be lucid. You may not be able to control what the people in your dream are doing, so you could just go along the dream knowing you're dreaming, not neccesarily controlling every aspect of the dream. Did that make sense . Happy New Year!

It did make sense. I would think it feels more like reality that way.

Of course, if I can't remember it when im not lucid, then uh...

Nothing happened tonight, except me seeing a bunch of chicks screaming about twilight and I could see their sparkles from a mile away. sadly didn't do a reality check inside.

Another note, I didn't notice anything afterwards cause that place has low gravity anyways.

Welcome and congrats on making that much progress so far. Personally, I'd advise to stay away from the Lucid Layer thing, but if it works for you, more power to you.

Hmm...everyone's been saying Avatar is amazing. I really need to go see it.

It really is. It's got the most amazing fantasy, ever. Times five. With a storyline and action.

Why stay away from the layer thing?

In my opinion, the guy's just making more steps and more unneeded terms. Lucidity is Lucidity, no layers. You're either Lucid, or you're not. He makes it more complicated than it needs to be.

Well, it's more descriptive. I mean, sa I said, I don't want to be lucid after I get to where I want to go, as long as I remember it.

IMO, the layers thing is a great idea.

      Haha.

I was on the bridge at the end of the Left for Dead II game though. There was a zombie tank right outside the saferoom. Hahaha.

I took a trip to Hell last night. Non-Lucid.

So i'm 1-2.. One successful trip and two failed trips to Pandora. :p

I'm not on good terms with god, I dont think I could even go there in the dream world. haha

I haven't been religious in a long time, and I totally deny his existance.

Your genuinly insane if you think it's better to be non lucid. what do you think this whole forums about maybe in a diffrent dream you would prefer to be lucid, theres alot of things you can do when you're lucid. + non lucid dreams are un predictable . the dream could all of a sudden turn into something completely diffrent, then it's all gone. if you're lucid you could prevent that. When i first started Lucid dreaming, i was having them within a week or so. but probably only cause it was the latest thing on my mind, and i wasn't used to it. it wore off after a while for me. I started having to do WILD and such. good luck

Well, I couldn't really interact with my DCs if I knew they were my imagination. As reece put it, I'd like to stay in the lower layers, but still control a dream. Not realize my body is in bed at home and I'd like to think my DCs are other people.

I'm not religious, I believe in god and angels, but I don't know anything about Jess or god or anything religious. /end religiousness confession.

Yeah, Id actually either want to have total control, Aja I command every single thing, as if I were awake daydreaming, or just go like it is, you control yourself, but not lucid enough to control other stuff. Kind of like real life
