So, I never really even looked up lucid dreaming. Never heard of it.
I watched Avatar the other day and my brother said "I should learn lucid dreaming." If you've ever seen the movie, it is just SO amazing that any lucid dreamer will love it.
That was three days ago.
Yesterday, around 10 PM EST, I started watching youtube videos by ReeceJones87 on lucid dreaming. I stopped at 11:07
They included:
The 5 layers
The 5 layers (more explanation) parts 1-5
Layer Zero
DreamScape
Lucid Dreaming for Beginners 1-3
And maybe others.
So, that same night, I had a "false awakening" i think it's called. I dreamt that I was waking up in the middle of the night in my bed. Everything was still dark.
So I lookde at my hands, and my ring & pink finger of my left hand were blurred on their left sides. Nothing other than that really, except that I saw my digital clock. I turn it off and put my bass guitar tuner in front of it cause I hate lights. After seeing that and my hands I thought "I'm dreaming."
So I got out of bed (in the dream.) and started spinning around in the center of my room.
As soon as I stopped spinning, I was EXACTLY where I wanted to be: in Pandora, with Tsu'Tey and Neytiri. I was Jake Sully. I'm a nerd, I know.
Of course, it wasn't a scene from the movie. It was like a small beach island, a few of them; I was on a cliff with docks leading out. Assasin's Creed II references heavy, cause there were poles in the water after the dock was broken. I rubbed my hands together and started walking instictively, (ReeceJones87 said to keep walking if you come lucid walking. I didn't but instictively I walked)
I could feel ALL my senses. My dream was VERY vivid, down to the glowing dots on the na'Vi skin and their stripes. The folds in lips, the leaves on trees in the islands, and the light bending in the clear water, like that of the bahamas.
So I could feel my legs when I was walking. About that point, I don't realize it's a dream. I guess I got over-excited and lost lucidity, but didn't wake up. I could smell the salt, and it was like reality, WITH my glasses on.
I guess I brushed Neytiri aside and kept walking across the dock. The Tsu'Tey dude started shooting at me with his arrows from a nearby island. LOL
So, Assasin's Creed II references again, I jump onto one pole, then he shoots again and I jump off and dive into the water. You know how in that game it breaks their sights?
Well it didn't he kept shooting. I felt the water as I dived in and all. I don't recall ever getting hit, but I blacked after that. Didn't wake up, just blacked.
I also recall a dream that same night where I looked at my computer screen. 3:16 PM. I looked away for a reality check and looked back. It was still 3:16, but something didn't feel right. I had a heavy feeling it was a dream, however i don't know if I knew it totally at the time.
Again, this was my first night. Never had a dream journal, only an hour of watching videos before I went to sleep.
I wanted to go to Pandora so right before I slept I watched a video of Avatar with the song Fireflies by Owl City, since it's pretty relaxing and like a fantasy. I may watch the other one tonight with that Frontlines song by pillars if I feel like a fight.
So what was going on? Any feedback/comments? I forgot what I was going to ask so yeah..
I hear it takes people literally years to be able to realize it's a dream within seconds and go exactly where they want to and create their own vivid environment like that. Then I guess I shifted down some layers and lost lucidity after a few seconds in Pandora.
I'm doing this on Day One.
I also believe it's better to not realize it's a dream and have full control over it once you get to the fantasy you want because then it'd be no fun, having control. I had senses, I could feel my legs when I walked and everything. But what fun would it be to CONTROL the storyline after that? I'm glad I lost my lucidity, actually.
Not glad the dream didn't last. At least, what I recall.
