Do you do reality checks in the morning when you wake up (for real)? If not you should try and make it a habit, it should eventually get through to your dreams and false awakenings. Maybe put a note next to your bed reminding you to do a RC. |

This false awakening thing is starting to get a bit ridiculous. At least 90% of my LDs end in one and I just can't seem to solve the problem. The worst was my most recent LD which was last night/ this morning. In my dream I came to a point where I was on the ground because i fell trying to fly too high, and I knew that I was going to have a false awakening. That's the screwed up part. I mentally prepared for it saying "I'm about to enter a false awakening, do a reality check". So I do enter the FA, but I don't do the reality check! Even worse right when my FA starts my real waking alarm clock goes off. Will this ever end?! |

I few nights ago my lucid dream also ended in a false awakening. |

My lucid dream goals:
Have a first lucid dreamCompleted !- Fly a Boeing 737
- Play John Petrucci's guitar
Be sure to embrace your FA's. As with other lucid skills, you have to roll with what you've got. FA's are really valuable since each one is a chance to go lucid. Try tying your recall skills to RCing your awakenings. If we want good recall, we ask ourselves "what was I just dreaming about?" Try to learn to add the question "am I still dreaming?" |

Most of my lucid dreams end with a false awakening, too. You just have to be diligent and attentive. Don't get fooled! |
|
I don't get them often, but when I do I get a chain reaction. I once got 4 in a row, and after trying to physically wake up each time I just said "screw it" and gave up. Very annoying to have to re-live the same 10 minutes again and again and again and again! |
|
^So why do you try to wake up instead of continuing the dream? |
|
I share your pain. 4 in a row last night DX. It's frustrating as hell. I was JUST about to have dinner with my DG then BAM. Awake. Or so I thought. It's annoying. |

A strange thought that I had in a dream that actually helped me catch a lot more false awakenings is something along the lines of "If I'm even a little bit still asleep, then I probably haven't actually woken up yet." |

"Sorrow is nothing but worn out joy."
One thing that I noticed about my FA is that every single time there has been someone else in the room. Which never happens in real life. That's what I can use to catch them I hope. |

I allways become lucid when I have an FA. But so far all of them have been lucid nightmares. And one time I was too lazy to even get out of my bed. |
