Being controlled in a lucid dream?

Okay, this is weird. So, about half a month ago, I had an LD. So, I have control in this dream right? Well...no. It was odd, because I had a mind control collar on me. I could control myself, but if the collar was turned on, I was uncontrollable. Now, I'm sure this may have occured to someone before. If so, please tell me. This was a weird dream. It's very odd how you are controllable, in an LD, but someone is controllind you with mind control. Go to ineverwakeup13's superdream journal, to learn more.

I haven't had a dream where I had a mind collar...But I did have a lucid dream where I was in my basement just sitting on a chair. Then I thought "Wait...Hey, cool! I'm dreaming! Ooo...Maybe I can fly? I'm gonna try!" Then when I got up to try it my mom called..And I'm like "Wait I have to try something!!" she kept calling me. Everytime she called I would get pulled closer and closer to the stairs. I was eventually screaming "NO MOM IM DREAMING STOP!" And I knew it was a dream and that I didn't need to listen to her, but I wasn't in control.

If you're lucid, you shouldn't you know that the collar is part of the dream?

But I've had slowed reactions and stuckness in lucid nightmares, so I guess I can't talk.

I pick up a half-eaten copy of a book by Neil Gaiman, and decide this is all his fault.

I think the posts in this thread highlight the difference between lucid dreaming and dream control. They are not the same thing. Just because you know you're in a dream, that doesn't mean you fully comprehend all that it entails while you're still dreaming.

I get what you're saying. I think in the dream he knew the collar was part of the dream, but he wasn't 100% lucid so he couldn't control it.

Well, I had a similar experience once. My DG used magic to control my body during one of my trainings. Turned out it was only because I believed her words that she could control me. As soon as I rejected the fact, though, I regained control. So you have to believe in yourself. Try to think that the collar is worthless, or instead, take it off and smash it into pieces, for all it's worth. After all, dreams are made up of expectations and beliefs.

The crimson blood shimmers on the snow,
The shattered heart weeps of hidden sorrow.
And over a pure white sky,
      rises a black moon.'

Ok, I see where you're all going with this. Ok, I was 100% lucid, and I knew that the collar was part of my dream. The significance of it though, is that I was being controlled while lucid. So, I was completely lucid, and I tried to stop the collar, but oddly, my lucidity couldn't overthrow the collar's power. In between the times it was on, I would try the spinning method, but then these jerks would turn the collar on. Then, it was like I was a lucid puppet!

Well, I didn't try believing, but I did try (and failed) to take the collar off. Problem is, I guess since I didn't believe, I couldn't take it off. Well, thanks for the advice, I'll try thay if I ever have the expirience again.

I can tell you 100% that you can do anything in a dream if you believe. The slightest fear or disappointment of some sort and WHAM! you lose control. I learnt that the hard way.

Once you convince yourself of a limitation, you are screwed. Fuzzy dream logic can inspire ridiculous limitations.

Since there are different levels of lucidity, from your description, it sounds like you were lucid enough to know you were dreaming and that the collar was part of the dream, but not lucid enough to know that you could control every aspect of the dream.

Maybe. But I'll try to be more self-confident.
