      Doobs Meditation Notebook

To me, meditation is an altered state of conscience that can be used to better yourself, attain an abundance of wisdom and the realization of subtle coincidences within your everyday life you might've otherwise overlooked. This is my first time creating such a text document regarding to meditation. For a long time I've really wanted to keep a dream journal but have no success with it. I've been practicing meditation for, I'd say going on 1 and a half to two months and have achieved some truly amazing states of mind. I've felt as though I was being pulled into the (what you described as void meditation) void by the center of my brow (the anjna chakra -spelling) and managed to keep this feeling for what felt like 15-20 minutes roughly. Amongst my rambling I've still got a lot of work to do.

      Goals:
-Attain a visualization of my focal object as if it were staring me in the face.
-Find the feeling(s) as I've described above and continue to meditate upon them and reach new ground thereafter.

I will eventually attain more goals as time goes on. If there are any tips, wisdom or experiences you would like to share, please do so.

After writing this (my above post) I did a little meditation based off of what I read previously in your tutorials about Void and Focal meditation techniques. I proceeded to breath with my eyes open for roughly 2 minutes then began to drift into relaxation. Ok so here's something interesting I picked up. For about the first 10-15 minutes of my meditation I tried your void method (none the less I am pretty sure this is the means of meditation I have gone about since having started the practice of meditation) and remained calm dismissing any absurd thoughts that would normally occur and this worked well. After that 15~ minute (mental mark w/e you wish) I thought about the Focal method. At this point I thought of the most basic thing I could've for this process- a lit candlestick. This is where things got interesting. As I proceeded to this Focal session within the...session I noticed that once I began focusing on the flame of the candlestick, the blackened void my mind sees while meditation began (yes, i know, how can you see darkness expand blah blah) to seem like it was expanding, almost like a circular opening as your retinas expanding in light I could dip my whole head into. It was very strange and I tried my hardest to keep this up, and did for a few minutes. After this phase of my session, which lasted maybe 10 more minutes I began feeling... I guess you could say refreshed and fluid-like. So, what I'm trying to say is for any of you out there struggling, try what I did and (I believe I read this in your tutorial, short term memory is whack) do the void procedure until you feel the peak of your relaxation, then go about the Focal and see if you notice anything.

Skipped meditation yesterday. No specific reason. Regretted not meditating. Gave it a go a few minutes ago but can't keep calm. I'll try again later tonight.

I had a nice void transitional to focal meditation session just now. Not much to type about but... started off void relaxed and after a while letting the sensations take hold I randomly started to think about a windmill in a valley between 2 mountains, constructing it in my mind, the shape of it was octagonal, 7 blades 2 windows. I dunno was interesting and very calming. Then! Then! After I was done architecting (not a word i know ) the windmill and it's surroundings I had a crazy thought to ask my subconscious to manifest itself. When I did so my eyes started to do what felt like REM movements and my eyes started to blink rapidly even though my eyes were completely shut. I do not quite understand what is going on when sensations like that occur. Is there something I should be doing when I do induce a feeling as such? Is there a fixed position I should aim my eyes in during certain phases of meditation? Just a few questions I feel appropriate for my understanding, might as well jot them down while my mind is in this state of fluidity (awesome, I didn't even know that was a word, right on!) I'm done ranting. Good luck to you all in your meditative endeavors!

Still meditating. I just haven't found a reason to write anything down in here lately. However, it is becoming much easier to relax and get into the meditative trance.

      I know this isn't the most correct place to put this but here I go;

Step 1: Meditate right before you go to bed
      Step 2: sleep
Step 3: wake up and do your daily rituals
Step 4: after waking and doing the previous step, take a nap for about an hour or so
      Step 5: Dream vividly

The past few days that I've napped I've had THE MOST vivid dreams I have ever had in my life. I remembered EVERY detail. In one of my dreams I noticed that a flashlight I had in my pocket for a keychain did not turn on and I was able to press my while thumb into it as if it were jello or some gelatinous goo. Man, was it refreshing to remember a dream I know the steps seem a bit farfetched, but meditate right before you go to bed bnlah blah blah. I suppose it's almost like a wake back to bed technique.

Lately I've been suplimenting vitamin b12 at night (I've noticed that they DO NOT help me dream, at least the way I sleep. I'm sure there are methods I don't know of for taking this, as well yeah I know, this is the wrong forum for this lol) as well as b-12 and MAN, my mood the past week has been PHENOMENAL! Still meditating. Trying to touch my pineal gland. I can feel myself getting close. Every day some new sensation approaches me. Anyways. Keep on meditating! Out!

I haven't been meditating much lately, not gonna lie. HOWEVER!!!!!!! I just started a dream journal. Again, I know this is not the correct forum to post this kind of thing in, but I do give credit to meditation for this happening, regardless of the-or lack there of- limited meditation recently! If you're reading this, and know exactly which forum I should post these kind of things in, I'd appreciate it. Yes, I totally could find it on my own, maybe, but firsthand help feels good, ya know lol. Thanks for reading! May your meditations be masterful!

      That's great

It's good to hear that meditation is helping people with stuff like dream journaling, because - after all - that's precisely what this course was designed for; to teach meditation with a slant towards lucid dreaming. Thanks for the feedback and keep it up! Also this is a good forum for that, as it's meditation related.

I meditated last night, and man it was great! I guess, for me spanning out my meditation sessions (however, i'd rather do them consecutively each day after another) works nicely. It's almost like... Trying to do a kickflip for 3 hours straight, retiring and then coming back later and landing it in the next 10 tries or so! Almost as if muscle memory has corrected itself and aligned my nerves/neural pathways differently somehow. (yes I am talking about of my a** a little bit hahahaha) Anyways.....I received this craaaazy pressure in my forehead between my eyes, where it should be and managed to concentrate on it for AT LEAST 15 minutes constantly. Thoughts presented themselves but easily (somewhat, took a bit of effort actually) dispersed to new, less mindful thoughts, leaving me in a complete trance. Now, I know what you're thinking, Doob just rolled his eyes back and got that pressurized feeling from the gelatinous orbs in his head. Nah, I kept my eyes a bit upward towards my brow from time to time, but mostly they were, I think facing forward. Fin.

      Thanks for reading!

Ahhhh. I've been meditating quit a lot lately. There is something I'd like to share with you all who actually read my posts here. So, I play this MMO game. This guy said something in the chat that I was thinking about 3 minutes prior to it being said by him. I told him in a private message "You must be psychic! I was just thinking that!" and you know, he replied lol n such. I then asked him to think of a number between 1 and 100. I had the number 73 chosen right as I was asking.... He proceeded to say 72. My mind was blown. So, that's basically one of many crazy crazy things (i know it was 1 off, but still ONE OFF out of 100!) that have been happening to me lately. Very strange coincidences as well, very surprising actually. Anywhoooooooooo, meditation is going pretty much the same, although I am beginning to experience some minor headaches in the middle of my head between by brow (as I type this it bumps my brain to befuddle.). Well, thanks for reading! Keep on meditating!
