When I was very young (not sure exactly, but 4-8) I had terrible dreams. I'd wake up screaming. Sometimes I'd try to scream for my parents, sometimes I couldn't move. I've had these sort of sleep paralysis type dreams off and on all my life. They are of a different character than a simple "bad dream", being more intense, vivid, and terrifying.

I would complain to my parents that "ghosts" came at me. These "ghosts" were simply floating creatures of mist. They would be a mixture of greens and blues. These mists would float above the ground, keep a general shape, and 100% they scared me to the point I'd only be able to scream and scream until my parents came to reassure me. I'm not sure how many times these mist creatures visited me, but it was more than once and fewer than 10 (remembered anyway).

I remember one in particular had a bizzare "layering" over a separate dream. First, I was dreaming that I had broken my nose at school. Then I was suddenly back in my bedroom, paralyzed with fear again. I knew they were coming. Somehow I was able to get up out of bed and go into the hallway. There the ghost passed closer to me than ever. It nearly touched me. Suddenly my nose fell off and was wrapped in a bandage. I picked it up and put it back on. Two glowing mist creatures trapped me in the hallway. I don't remember if I woke up or the dream shut off or what.
