I tend to have these HORRIBLE somewhat Lucid/False Awakening nightmares.. I usually wake up screaming from them.. During one of those nightmares, I was hitting my husband in the head, screaming "WAKE ME UP" in my sleep.. It got that bad..

I often realize that I am in a nightmare, and I can make things happen.. But, I can only decide what I want to do in the nightmare (which is usually running and hiding or trying to wake up) but I cannot control my surroundings. If that makes sense.. I am usually always aware that I am in a nightmare..

They usually go like this:

First something creepy starts happening and I become fully aware that I am in a nightmare..

Then, I usually end up running from whatever scary thing, and I try my hardest to wake up.

Then, usually I will get myself to wake up in bed, but I am still in a nightmare, or in a somewhat different nightmare..

I just keep waking up in my bed, only to realize that I am still in a nightmare.. I end up screaming, pulling my hair out, kicking, trying everything to get me to wake up..

I often act out these dreams in my sleep by waking up gasping, waking up screaming or screaming in my sleep.. I will also sometimes be kicking and punching and stuff like that.. I have scared the crap out of my husband many times when I would wake up suddenly or wake up screaming his name. lol. He says I am a Wierdo. LOL.

And the False Awakening part seems to last forever! Just over and over and over.. Someone gave me a good idea about using a weapon in dreams like that.. I have never thought about making a weapon appear so I can fight off the zombies or whatever.. I usually just run and hide and try to wake myself up..

There was this one time where there were zombies out to get me, (one was my mother-in-law lol) and I was holding them by their necks.. I said to myself: "On the count of five I am going to be in another dream". So, I counted to five and BAM! I was in my bed.

Then, I realized that I was in yet another nightmare..That was the nightmare that I had when I started to hit my Husband on the head, and was screaming at him to wake me up, in my sleep. lol. I will NEVER forget that one.. But, I have had many other somewhat lucid/false awakening/nightmares..

Does anyone else have experiences like these?
