self mutilation

well last night i had a dream about cutting open my leg from my inner groin down to my knee and opening it and pulling that artery that runs through the leg to the heart. eventually i try to limp to a hospital and i get help but they make me wait as i bleed to death and they take in to surgery and i wake up from freaking out (in the dream) about them saying im not going to make it.

looking for advice i guess. was a weird dream and i sawsome people post on self mutilation and they all say its open for interpretation so i was wondering what some of yours might be

You are trying to remove part of your “heart” from your life OR doing something intentionally adverse that is linked to your “heart” .Your subconscious is telling you that in doing this “thing” you are or will suffer a great amount and feel like you are dying (suffer lots of emotional pain/anxiety/depression).

What is the definition of your “heart”? Is your "heart" your favorite passion? yourself? your girlfriend? drugs or alcohol? your family?

Hi kjahh,

I think this one is a pun! They're always very meaningful. The artery of which you speak is the FEMORAL artery, and the dream seems to be referencing the idea that life is EPHEMERAL, or fleeting, and that fact is bothering you. In other words, the dream is simply you processing what you feel about that life/death thing. Perhaps it is calling you to learn more about death in order to take the sting out of it. When we know for ourselves that life goes on after death, we can stop being so afraid of dying.
