      Hair on my tounge...

It's not a dream I have every night or anything, but it's been something that happens from time to time that could happen in any dream I'm having. Every time, I'm convinced it's real and not a dream.

I'll feel a hair on my tounge, and when I reach to pull it off, I discover it's somehow so long that it's in my whole digestive system, and the other end of the hair is coming out my bum. There's a lot of discomfort when I try and pull it out. Every time this dream happens, I think to myself, "argh! It's just like what happens in those dreams... but it's happening in real life this time!"

A few times the hair has been in my nose, but usually it's on my tounge.

I think maybe one of the reasons I have the dream is due to a scene in the documentary about R. Crumb. In it, Crumb goes to visit one of his weird brothers. The brother is in the midst of swallowing some really long piece of tape or fabric? He explains the fabric will work its way through his system in a couple days, and leaves one end hanging out of his mouth.

The idea of that seemed so horrible to me, to have something like that just in your body, and WHY would he do that? If he explained why, I can't remember. I assume it probably has something to do with a cleansing process. I saw the movie years ago, when it first came out on video, and to this day I get creeped out when I think about it. Crumb is a genius artist, but good God, what a family!

Turn this hair into a dream sign.

Before you go to sleep, as you lay in bed, visualize the hair. Then say to yourself, out loud, "This is a dream!" Then say in your head, "This is a dream!"

Then do a Reality Check (still awake), then picture yourself ignoring the hair, and go flying.

      Then, go to sleep.

Sounds like the guy was trying to floss his intestines. But hair? Ewwwwwww!!!

I'd say that was just something that really captured your attention. And dreams reflect what you have your attention focused on. The emotional intensity you attached to it just makes it more likely to manifest in your dreams.

From time to time I have realized it's a dream, but I'm stuck in dream logic. I've pulled the hair all the way out, and at the end there's… grossness at the end of it. My dream recall is terrible. I think there's been another time where I knew it was a dream, so I didn't even bother with the hair.

When you become lucid, do exactly that, ignore it, and do something else. It will automatically disappear.
