Well I just a article about a really powerful high energy particle accelerator. It was saying how this can be used to create a universe, because it will pinch of like a black hole and expand really fast to create a universe in another spartle space. Well is it possible that in the future will we create our own universe. Think about it we cant create or destory matter, however would a infinte loop solve are problem. This also ask the question can we create other universes i.e. play god.

Edit: Dont turn this into a religious debate and say god created everything and the big bang is wrong, also the world was created a six thousand years ago blah blah blah.

Well i can get it, but it will take a day because it in a magzine that i dont have so i have to tract it down. Also get some suitable source on the internet that doesnt assume you have a degree in physics.

It too big so it had to be taken off. It was the coolest, smartest and inspirational link i could think off.

First off, please start spelling stuff right. It's not 'are', it's 'our'. I think that's something we all learned in kindergarten, no? I apologize if you're not a native speaker, but I just hate trying to sift through sloppy, incoherent, semi-ideas. You didn't even properly explain yourself, or formulate your thoughts.

What you have here is just a passing thought, at best. Next time, try delving a little deeper...

Just some advice for future topics if you want them to be taken seriously. My only regret in posting this is that it pushes this thread to the top...

dude i kind of understand what you're saying, but what i've drawn from his posts is that he is DEFINATELY not english first language. the most he can do is sound out what he says, which makes sense. and btw, its generally worth reading things a second time to understand what he says, as it's usually something very interesting to talk about.

Second language or not, at the moment it's an idea that isn't that deep. It has potential to be quite interesting but right now it falls short. So, whatever...

I'm no expert on astrophysics, but I've done a bit of reading on it all lately and I find it pretty interesting. From my understanding, particle accelerators accelerate particles to near the speed of light before making them collide. When they collide, a shower of free quarks (I think it's quarks) happens, mimicking conditions thought to exist just after the big bang. I think it is possible for this to maybe in some way create a singularity - if this happened we'd be sucked into a black hole. I'm not sure how the singularity could be caused to explode, therefore creating a mini big-bang.

You got the priniciple. Basically its what you said, however the partciles get sucked into a black hole and go on to form a universe.

I do use spelling check and grammar check, however they are useless because they say the text is fine. I do various spell checks and the only thing that comes up incorrect is sometimes i forget to use don't instead dont.

Spell check

See their both useless. I guess it more of a communication problem then a grammatical or spelling problem. I myself did pass my English exam and got a pass, which is a C for GCSE and is a good score it means i am above average in my english abillity.

Yo man, I didn't mean to turn this into nitpicking your grammar or spelling. The real meat of what I was talking about was more the fact you didn't solidify the creating of this universe idea. It's cool to leave it open ended and everything but there wasn't really anything to discuss after all was said and done, you know? It was like, mmmhmm...Yep...that'd be interesting...*fade to black* cue ending of life *gun shot*.

Ok

What if we created this universe. Ideas!

Common if i gave you all the facts then it would be dead or crap like the higher dimension topic. What i am really asking can escher hands really exsist. Common people you must have some ideas. It maybe stupid however just say it.

With all due respect, that visualizing other dimensions thread, while interesting, had been taken in another direction by someone other than myself. And, I wouldn't call it crap. I answered the man's question which even pertained to the topic. Topics should be flexible like that. Deal with it.

If you are more interested in this idea of the creating universes thing, may I suggest the Science fiction show, Stargate: Atlantis? it is constantly dealt with on that show, where the race of super-intelligent ancients can harness the power of mini universes in the form of something called Zero Point Modules or ZPM's. It's actually based on real science, mind you...check it out...Zero-point energy

Yes i have seen the episode of stargate sg1 when they use a zpm. For some reason i didnt like the episode it seemed weak to me.
Topics should be flexible like that.[/b]
Yes i know that why i made this topic vague and then you started saying can you be more precise or as you put
It's cool to leave it open ended and everything but there wasn't really anything to discuss after all was said and done, you know? It was like, mmmhmm...Yep...that'd be interesting...*fade to black* cue ending of life *gun shot*.[/b]
I really dont know what you want do you want it flexible or precise. I think open ended is the most flexible you can get because you dont dictate thought.

I'm talking about SG: Atlantis... not SG1. They don't really get into the specifics of how a ZPM works on SG1. They do multiple times, however, on SGA.

Ok, enough petty bickering about my initial beef with your thread. How about more discussion about what the initial idea of the thread was? In essence, all I was saying was, why dont you elaborate? So please do...

Well theres a theory that cretures from Mars have already created an artifical world
the Saturn moon Iapetues, or sumfing lyk tht
I dont no much about it or wether the theory has much validity, but an number of stronomers advocate it.
I think i spelt the moon wrong.

It is a really interesting idea though, that there isn't so much a universe, but an infinite number of universes existing inside each other. I thought about this many times when considering what it would be like if all we were was...say a bit of dust in some kids room. Maybe it is like that, and our universes life is over so fast but we perceive it as millions of years. One day, some kids finger from a universe bigger than ours could just destroy us in an instant.

I dunno, I guess I was getting a bit strange there, but you can see my point. People say that we really aren't that important at all considering the universe is so huge and ever expanding, and we are just a speck. But what happens if our own universe was like that? Just a speck in another universe, in another universe, in another universe...you get the idea. How useless and meaningless would that make our own lives? You would really start asking yourself then, what IS the point of me even bothering with this existence, because it is the most futile thing ever. There is no point, we are the least important things in existence, just with an ego to big for our own good.

But thats just what I feel sometimes, other times I feel like there is no death, life is a dream, reincarnation, there is a more important being, we will all eventually die and live through eternal nothingness, maybe we don't die but our bodies do leaving us stuck in our own bodies becoming more and more bored, maybe we are all just living out our own death right now and maybe I just have a great imagination and nothing exists.

But fortunately I still have another 70-80 years to think about this
Our own White Rooms are only a perception, we are simply confined by the rules that our mind creates for us, to make our 'dream' seem more logical so our brains can comprehend what we perceive. Without these rules we couldn't even begin to comprehend our own existence, thankfully, we have dreams. Dreams allow us a window into a world without rules and restrictions, all we need to do is learn how to control our world, because that's what it is, our world, separate from the invasion of others, the problems of our Waking Dream and the pain we feel in our conscious state.

nice topic for sure.

if your definition of universe. are simply the places you visit, can see, hear, smell, ect.. (sense) the true human universe thus far, bar a handful of people..is the earth, so yes we are currently creating our universe.

back when i used to write often. i once had an idea along the lines of. the whole humans only using 10% of their brain (which is BS btw), but anyway it was about the theory of mind over matter. and when all the humans prayed to their gods, they eventually created them through group focus & unconsciously using the remaining 90% of their brains to create an all-knowing diety. but of course they also create an anti-god (the devil).
so the hero of the book was trying to stamp out religion to take away power from the evil diety, but at the same time he would be in effect destroying god. so the dilemma which was destroying the devil would also uncreate the goodness in people as well as hatred, heaven/hell... and the human race would eventually just become a neutral souless being.

i ended up giving up on the idea after about 50 pages...
it was far to complicated to fit into something like a single book, and i didn't want to finish it with they typical "evil is a nessesary entity..in order for good to exist, there must be evil as well" crap.

is that something along the lines that you were thinking?

EDIT: yes i realise there are typo's it's A.M. and i've been up all night. i'm also interested in what people think of my idea, maybe it'll convince me to start writting it agian.

on an interesting side note, there's a religion in japan. i don't recall the name of the religion. but it was practiced by the yamabushi (warrior-monks) of iga prefecture.

the theory was somthing along the lines of: anything and everything you do in this world affects the entire universe, because everything capable of giving life. is all linked together through the universal energy source (think: chi).
so even something as simple as taking a single step ultimately will affect the entire living universe. i've got a book or two on the topic. it held my interest for awhile. it also covered stuff in it as well as the conscious mind, being not only something YOU controled..then it got confusing.

if your interested in the subject. it was believed to be the religion used by ninjas (seriously). that's all i know about it, it's pretty much a dead religion so finding info on it can be pretty hard.

You should change the title to 'Did We Create Our Universe, Infinite Loops'. Since there are many grammar Nazis running around.

If the universe has an infinite amount of energy then you wouldn't need to create energy to make a new universe. Just take out an infinite amount of energy and put it into your universe. This universe would still have an infinite amount of energy and your universe would have an infinite amout of energy.

That's an interesting point, I never thought of that. Hmmm...

Anyway, in one of Dan Brown's books (Angels and Demons, I think, he's the guy who wrote The Da Vinci Code) there are these scientists who have created anti matter. In the book (I'm not sure if it's true, haven't read up much on it) they create it via a particle accelerator. When the particles collide they make a Little Bang and from the resulting mini-explosion thingy matter and anti-matter are created, which destroy each other on contact.

Also, if you do a bit of research on event horizons and black holes, there are some theories regarding anti-matter being released at the event horizon of black holes, and the correlates to why black holes don't increase infinitely in size (or vice versa, can't quite remember).

So ya, with that technology, I think it is possible that at some point we'd be able to create a universe. I don't know how big, or what the ramifications would be, though.

Yeah I heard about antimatter. I also heard that the normal matter and anti-matter mirrored the motions of each other. When one was turned the other turned the same way. There was some debate if they were separated a long distance; if one was turned then the other would turn at the same time.
