Heres an interesting thought. The simple thought that something is going to change in 2012 could bring about a change. Kind of like how a full moon results in higher crime rates and such. |

Yes, it is inevitable
No, in fact we don't even have a conscious
Neither, something else is in store for us
Our race is doomed to extinction, simple as that
"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed."
- Albert Einstein
"We're so engaged in doing things to achieve purposes of outer value that we forget the inner value, the rapture that is associated with being alive, is what it is all about."
-Joseph Campbell
"He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice. This disgrace to civilisation should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, senseless brutality, deplorable love-of-country stance, how violently I hate all this, how despicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be part of so base an action! It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder."

Still can't WILD........
It's interesting how people don't know how to listen to themselves and learn through direct experience. So much easier to eat what the social institutions are feeding us... |
|
How about instead of insulting those of us who happen to disagree with you, you actually present a counter-argument? You seem to conveniently ignore my pleas for evidence. I KNOW you can't give perfect, or maybe even sufficient, evidence online. I'm not asking for you to convince me. All I'm asking is for you to explain your reasoning, the things that you consider evidence, that I may make an educated decision on this topic. |

Also, let me make it clear that my "fuck you" statement was not aimed at you, but towards the more negative skeptics, such as Nerou, for example. |

Look man, I'm used to be a skeptic. I still am, in many ways. I know there is no way to really prove this stuff to you at the moment, at least, but please, don't go as far to say my faith is "beforehand". I used to be a skeptic, and guess what? I happened to find some proof, and now, I don't have to "believe"... haha, I KNOW, and it feels damn good. |

Those views are based either on fear or materialism. A "shift in consciousness" would be more like turning from this and towards true wisdom and compassion. |
|
I have noticed that more people have became aware of the collective consciousness. One reason why I think there is going to be a consciousness shift soon is because I already know a lot of stuff, and I'm very young. I mean, not to long ago you were lucky to even get close to experiencing the things I have at all in your entire lifetime. Way more people are aware, thats for sure, and way more people are becoming aware at a relatively young age. |

I'll look into it -- this all reminds me of the evo. biologist/philosopher in Waking Life. That guy is awesome |

Look, I appreciate your tolerance of my posts, but this is complete and utter bullshit. Not only did you spell infinite wrong, this whole passage is nothing but pseudo-intellectual nonsense. The mysteries of myself? That has nothing to do with the issue at hand - the physical, or non-physical nature of the human mind. |

Hahaha, that guy is awesome. Favorite character in the movie |

Actually, the vast majority of the planet is getting more and more ignorant of science as the world as a whole advances. How many people do you know that could program a computer, let alone build one? Its the blind acceptance of what scientists tell you that makes you ignorant, not the belief in other possibilities. |

i see a conciousness shift in every new born child. the next generation of kids will be completly different from our own and that is possibly the conciousness shift. no long are kids constrained by their parents and teachers view on life. they can jump on the internet and read about paralel realitys, time shifts, conciousness shifts, 2012 prophecies. our own generation is changing constantly. people become enlightened by reading and 100% of the internet is readable. it has nothing to do with 2012 a conciousness shift is going to happen regardless of what the mayans think it may not happen right away. |

"scientific background" at that level just implies someones sprinkled magic fairy dust - sorry, scientific terminology - over their own concepts. Without a comparison of the field strengths required for mental effects and these fluctuations, it doesn't mean anything. Many people have used "scientific background" to sell their own ideas. Hey, movies use it to scare people - do you think e.g. The Core is realistic? |

Consciousness cannot be completely explained on a physical basis. To take sensory input, let's say experiencing the taste of salt, and reduce it to neurons firing and neurotransmitters and such is the result of scientific prejudice. Not too long ago you'd think that the computer you're looking at was a discrete independent physical form, but the truth is it's a manifestation of the - I think the term is - quantum background. So basically, there is a fault in seeing inherent existence rather than how that form arises depending on prior causes, conditions, and what concepts we attach to it. I guess you could say that sentient awareness strictly based on physical components is the same as a chair without an energetic basis. |
