Xaqaria is correct, even though L815 is half-correct.

The difference in the clock on the space shuttle was not due to speed. The speed of the space shuttle is too slow by many orders of magnitude to make much of a difference in the clocks. As it happens, the clocks on the shuttle do move faster than those on Earth, but not due to the speed of the craft. The difference is due to gravitational force. The more an object is affected by gravity, the slower time passes for it. This is why time theoretically comes to a stop inside a black hole.

So there are several factors that affect time perception:

      - Mass
      - Speed in relation to a "static" object
      - Speed in relation to a "non-static" object

      Am I correct?

Gravitational pull and velocity are the only two forces I know that affect time.

Time perception can be affected by many different forces, including alcohol, lectures, commercials, waiting for busses and elevators, and general dementia.

Time is all perception is what I was getting at...

And velocity would be it's speed in RELATION to both a static and non static object. The other is gravitational force: mass.

I didn't get that that is what you were getting at. Still don't, really.

Two different measurements of the same phenomenon.

      Gravitational force is not mass.

      1. Okay... Wait, which part didn't you get?
      2. Yes, but the measurements are different, that's what matters. One object moving toward another not moving only changes time for the moving object, but two objects speeding by eachother affects both.
      3. But mass dictates gravitational force.
