      It probably stems from the fact that 10% of the cells in the brain are neurons; the rest are support cells called glial cells, which can't be used for cognitive function any more than your skin can.
      yeah, thats what i was trying to say a while ago, but i didnt know to call the stuff that, but i still thought that there is more potential use for our brain.

      and by the way, its impossible to know wether we use 10% or 100% or whatever, because not nearly 100% of the brain has evn been figured out yet, there are still a lot of gaps in the knowledge of the brain.

      It's hard to see why we would evolve and develop parts of the brain if they're pointless.

      While it's true that we still have a lot to learn about the brain, we do know very conclusively that we use every bit of our brains. Functional brain imaging makes it clear that even fairly mundane tasks activate the entire (or nearly entire) brain. The pretty images that you see showing small, discrete areas of activation have typically been highly doctored to show only the areas of highest activation.
