Actually, I'd consider myself a little more introverted, though it may be hard to tell, sometimes.

I definitely walk the line, though. I can take on the attributes of an extrovert, when it's time to go out and party, or chill with my friends, but I always have to get a recharge, and there are many days were I'm just more comfortable/productive/amused/entertained when I'm by myself. In a crowded room, though, unless I'm just really feeling the right vibe, I'm usually the quiet guy that just sort of observes everything the people around me are doing, and my brain is constantly just flowing with inner-dialogue - so much so that, sometimes, I end up tuning out the conversation around me without even knowing it, even if people are talking directly to me. Lol.

Yeah it defined me very well, I don't like it that extroverted people think I have something against them, my mom does that occasionaly, when she first met the school nurse, she didn't think she liked her, but later she relised she's introverted.
I think for extroverts life in society can be easier, if they have the social skills, and are fun to talk to, I think the social thing for introverts discribed me extremely well too, I get energized holding deep conversation, it's just a matter of getting past the small talk that I find hard, if only it wasn't expected as much as it is in society.

I don't like it that extroverts seem to think introverts have some problem, but we never complain to them about how they should cool off and keep to themselves for awhile.

      I'm balanced.

I flip flop to both extremes all the time. I guess I'm a bit more of an introvert, but at first glance you would probably consider me an extrovert.

Really interesting article O. I've come across loads of people who have those exact misconceptions, it's a good thing that people are finally trying to understand this more deeply.

I'm not an introvery - I would love being with people or working with them and I definitely don't need that much me-time (well, a healthy amount, but not that much), but I'm extremely shy and have very badly developed social skills. It drives me nuts trying to explain to people that I'm NOT introverted.

I'm kind of an intro/extrovert, im really like what Oneiron wrote also, or kichu, im pretty much similar.

      mostly introverted but occasionally extroverted.

Cool article btw, makes a TON of sense to me, because my friends and family are mostly extroverted and they ALWAYS want to go out every minute of the day every day every moment they need to do something, and that drives me absolutely insane.

Everyone keeps saying how i seem to avoid people or avoid social situations, when im really just having alone time, i LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE alone time, like total solace...nobody but me, total peace and quiet.

But then there's times where i love to party, but not very often.
I would rather die on my feet then to live on my knees.

seems Im like most people here who are intro but occasionally extro. Im extro when I am with my friends or playing sports. but I posses all of those qualities of an introvert a great majority of the time.

I'm completely happy being alone with myself. I would have absolutely no problem living like that bloke in lost, down the hatch for 3 years. Well fair enough, I might get a little lonely, but so long as I had things to do, music, exercise, reading material, and violin and guitar, I'd be fine.

Not to say that I don't like spending time with other people. I am generally fairly quiet, and it takes people a while to get used to that.

I would've sworn there was another thread floating around some months ago or even a year or so where the majority of the people were Extro, this place has flipped for sure. Or perhaps not.

Let's roll out the test again shall we?

It's the same for me, especially that last sentence. My mind just gets stuck on an idea sometimes and runs with it without any regard for what I'm doing. It's embarrassing having to tell someone, "I'm sorry, could you repeat that? I wasn't paying attention."

I find myself to be more of an "internal thinker" as well and I wonder if that's true for most introverts. I like to work things out in my head before I say something, while I know others tend to voice their thoughts while they're thinking them. I guess I can be a bit of both, but usually when someone asks me a question, it takes me a little while to answer because I want to say how I truly feel rather than just blurt something else and have to spend extra time clarifying.

All of those five points were spot on. I definitely need a lot of time alone to 'recharge' and I enjoy those periods of thought as much as I do socialising, and I dislike small talk; get me talking about some deep philosophical issue though and I can go on for hours (literally).
