The Black Magicians of Egypt

So I've been doing a lot of research on the Astral Plane because frankly, none of my personal experience trying to find it has ever left me with any resolute proof that it exists. What I learned about was Egypt. There's an interesting idea many cultures around the world share, and that is a belief in an invisible world full of our dead and other discarnates. The Greeks called it the etherical plane, Modern new-age spiritualists, wiccans, pagans and etcetera typically refer to it as the Astral plane. Out of every society though, it appears the Egyptians were the first to come in contact. There were Black Priests in Egypt who slowly managed to seize total control of the Priesthood and therefore control of religion in Egypt. They destroyed all the old records and changed all the traditions pretending they were the same traiditons as before. They took all the meaning away from the symbols their religion held sacred and instead instructed the worship of these symbols, intended only to represent something by the Old Magicians. (Sound familiar?) They were called Black Magicians because of the unique way that they manipulated the Invisible world. They contacted beings with malicious purposes, you could call these creatures demons, especially since the name stuck when the art was rediscovered later (in a society where philosophical understanding of the invisible world was purely a Christian one). The pact was typically that for the Magician's life the spirit would be his servant, then once the magician died he would become the spirit's servant for eternity. And if you look through history shitloads of people seem to have had helpers from another world. Socrates was rumored to have a demon friend that regularly gave him advice (though speculists claim this is probably just epilepsy). Many claim that Napoleon's like snake demon love-affair was because of his own bond. Much of the mysterious beliefs of Hitler and his attempts to pull power or leverage from the invisible world can be revealed (or at least the technique, not the experiences) in "The Book of the Black Raven" And I mean sure, every crazy psycho leader in history trusted their spiritual advisors more than reason (Reagan is my favorite example of that) but it seems to me like maybe it goes deeper, maybe disincarnates can give advise, or make deals. Anyway I'm sick of writing so I'd appreciated some feedback on my thinking. 90% of this info comes from the book "The Secret Teachings of All Ages" by Manly P. Hall, by the way.

I've never heard of Black Magicians, but this is a very interesting post. There are many other instances of people using the so called "Astral" world to manipulate the physical world. Anyone who adheres to any type of religion (as we see it in the spiritual sense) must have some belief in a spirit world and/or a spiritual being/s. About Socrates...I think his "disincarnate" as you call it may have much more to do with entheogens than epilepsy...you should read up on the Ellusinian Mysteries, an ancient Greek mystery cult with inductees such as Socrates, Plato, and Pindar.
