Just because your Christiasd doesn't mean you shouldn't be allowed to express your views though. I guess you could keep them to yourself but still i see no reason that it is wrong for him to say he dislikes Atheists( ok hate may be strong, or is it), afterall they are totally against what he stands for and call his inner most believes ridicolous. Just as Atheists may dislike some Christians as they may often insult their intelligence by saying " The only reason you don't beieve in God is because you cant fathom an ulimate being".

I too appreicate a good debate... but the fact is, most the people that post here, come to flame/troll.... which is why, I wanted a thread that wasn't a debate so I wouldn't have to put up with people singing, and I quote... Now just because you are atheist doesn't mean you hate Christianity and believe no good comes of it. Just the ones you see in the media right now are ranting about the church and god. But if an atheist insults you and deliberately degrades you then yes you have the right to express your feelings. Of course If you find out someone is atheist and you go on a tirade against them without ever having them say they hate your religion then that would just be...rude. I am an Atheist and I see no trouble at all getting along with christians and I respect christians just as a christian should respect other religions.

Ill start off with a list of things that come from us. --Christmas (AKA Yule, Jesus was born in spring, not winter. quit stealing our practice.) -Wreath -Christmas tree -Carolling --Easter -Bunnies and Eggs are symbols -The practice of looking for eggs comes from the old practice of looking for mushrooms -So much things to post, so little time. I hope you do realize that 99% of what you just said does not come from Christians... Yes the days are based on the Christian belief that it was Christs celebration of birth (Christmas), and that he died and rose again (Easter) but the act of egg hunting, gift giving, caroling, wreaths.... did not come from Christians, it came from people who wanted money. Same with the whole thing with Satan having horns and hooves, in the Bible it says that he was God's most beautiful angel. So much you don't know, so little time.

yes homer but the image of our modern devil did come from christians( not christianity itself mind). I believe it was from a pagangod of some kind, so that their believes could be said to be evil and so killing them would be a Holy thing to do. But again im not saying modern day Christians are like that, they were just early explorers.

Yes he was an angel, he would look like one. I never mentioned gift giving, how does caroling give profit? Egg hunting is still celebrated on Easter, which is a day claimed by christians, Churches hold eggs hunts, posters of bunnies and eggs can be seen in churches on that day. "wreaths.... did not come from Christians" Thats what i said, but it is used as decoration by the church and it followers, the origin of the wreath is pagan, along with the christmas tree. But its claimed by christians and the church, thsi post will be continued when my sister gets off. Christmas trees and wreatsh are seen as christian traditions by many, every year they are seen in my parents church.

My point is that I don't care who does these things now, they weren't started by Christians. Not every church does all those things, some of them actually do what the day is meant for. I'm Christian and have a Christmas tree, wreaths etc... but I know it' not biblical it's just a tradition now, and because I am Christian and do these things doesn't mean that we started it, or else it could be started by you, i mean you probably have a Christmas tree does this mean the tradition of a Christmas tree belong to you?

They were first Pagan days, Easter and Christmas never came until the christian chruch decided to try an elimnate paganism. they were originally Ostara and Yule.

homer i doubt christmas and easter were christian first. Not that i know a lot but i thought the pagan festivals were older, just that christians took ithe mian themes from them, virgin birth of jesus and such. Though many religions share ideas so what ever.
