You asked why some divine deity would care about our 'meager' existence. To me, this suggests you believe God could only care about super-special beings with super-special powers (which, in fact, humans might be, considering we have an intellect and have done incredible things with it--tell me again, why are we humans so irrelevant to God?)

Why didn't God tell us about other life forms? I could see it now: Jesus sitting at the last supper, telling his disciples to eat the bread and drink the wine because it is his body and blood, then saying, by the way, extra-terrestrials exist. This is a ridiculous question.

What else should the Bible be based off of? Turtles? Cockroaches? Though, these creatures might have trouble reading the text. So I guess it's logical to make it about humans, just like every other history book.

      1. Humans can't even figure out how to harness the tiny amount of energy in a lightning bolt.

      2. We can't even land on our moon.

      3. Our social infrastructure is failing.

      4. We WILL go extint, just like evrything else on the planet.

      5. I asked why god would be so intent with us. I mean, we are like a speck of dirt on a flea on a dog in a field on a planet in a universe, in this universe.

      7. All life should be valued equally. The bible teaches otherwise. The bible teaches that we are superior to animals, in truth, this is only humans' innate sense of superiority. The need to belong to something grand.

      8. You have persistently avoided the question.

It's a very good theory nonetheless, with the Van Allen belt and all that, but it's just a bit too... far fetched I suppose.

Though I see where you're coming from, people walking on the moon when you couldn't even play Pong! in your living room is far fetched as well.

Yes, I misunderstood the original question, Do you think martians are going to heaven? If you don't, you're going to hell and your religion is illogical.

Let's see. We've learned how to communicate with each other through language. We've discovered things such as mathematics, science, cosmology, and all that good stuff. We've built trains, plains, and automobiles (along with other transportation devices). We've created cities and housing with built-in heating and air-conditioning, running water, and lighting. We've set up a market such that we can conveniently buy food when we are hungry, clothes when we grow, and a multitude of other utilities which aid us in day-to-day life. We've created technology, such as the telephone, radio, television, and computer (and with these have set satellites in orbit around earth). We've set up a world-wide-web so that I could be discussing this with you here and now. And yes, we have been to the moon.

Regarding #5, what other kind of creature should we be in order for God to care about us (this is why I mentioned the massive, super-smart, spaceman--because this is exactly what you are suggesting)?

All life should be valued equally? So if I kill a fly, should I be taken custody and tried for the murder? This is exactly what should happen if the fly's life is to be valued as a human's. You can see how this would create some problems.

I won't answer your question because you first chose to assume my answer and insult me based upon that assumption. Sorry.

      8. You have persistently avoided the question.

First of all, yes, the bible does state how man is insignificant COMPARED to God and so forth:

Isaiah 40:15: Look! The nations are as a drop from a bucket; and as the film of dust on the scales they have been accounted. Look! He lifts the islands themselves as mere fine [dust].

17:All the nations are as something nonexistent in front of him; as nothing and an unreality they have been accounted to him

Psalms 62:9: Indeed the sons of earthling man are an exhalation,
The sons of mankind are a lie.
When laid upon the scales they are all together lighter than an exhalation.

Jeremiah 10:23: I well know, O God, that to earthling man his way does not belong. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.

Proverbs 20:24: From Jehovah are the steppings of an able-bodied man. As regards earthling man, how can he discern his way?

Psalms 144:3-4: O Jehovah, what is man that you should notice him,
      The son of mortal man that you should take account of him? Man himself bears resemblance to a mere exhalation;
His days are like a passing shadow.

So you notice, the Psalmist asked kinda the same question you did. Notice here:

      Pslams 8:4:
What is mortal man that you keep him in mind,
And the son of earthling man that you take care of him?
5 You also proceeded to make him a little less than godlike ones,
And with glory and splendor you then crowned him.
      6 You make him dominate over the works of your hands;
Everything you have put under his feet:
7 Small cattle and oxen, all of them,
And also the beasts of the open field,
8 The birds of heaven and the fish of the sea,
Anything passing through the paths of the seas.
9 O Jehovah our Lord, how majestic your name is in all the earth!

Hebrews 2:6: But a certain witness has given proof somewhere, saying: “What is man that you keep him in mind, or [the] son of man that you take care of him? 7 You made him a little lower than angels; with glory and honor you crowned him, and appointed him over the works of your hands.

The reason why man is different from any other creatures is because we are the only creature that God made in HIS image. We have the superior qualities of love, wisdom, justice, and power and we have free will.

God does not only pay attention to humans. He of course cares for ALL of his creation:

Matthew 10:29: Do not two sparrows sell for a coin of small value? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground without YOUR Father’s [knowledge]. 30 But the very hairs of YOUR head are all numbered. 31 Therefore have no fear: YOU are worth more than many sparrows.

Also, just because animals are subject to humans, it doesn't mean that they treat them however they want.

Notice Proverbs 12:10: The righteous one is caring for the soul of his domestic animal, but the mercies of the wicked ones are cruel.

The bible refers specifically to humans because the bible was specifically made by humans who had God's spirit. God also has spirit creatures in heaven who are all important to him, and they are greater than man. They are with him in the heavenly realm.

By the way I don't share the belief that all good people go to heaven.

      Dear lord

Why are you so obsessed with Christianity Seismosaur? Have you nothing better to do than to perpetually talk about something you don't actually believe in? Thats just sad.

Look, I don't believe in Santa Claus and you probably don't either. Wouldn't it then seem pathetic if I kept making posts after post, and topic after topic, about how Santa doesn't exist...all the mean while justifying such fanaticism as "intellectual curiosity"?

Cut the shit and move on. Why do you even make these topics? What do you get out of it? Do you feel better about yourself when you do this? Does it make you feel smart or something? I mean, its obvious you do it to make religion (more specifically Christianity) look rediculous, but why?

      help me understand...
