Oh I don't doubt it's existence. However, I do doubt it's reliability and accuracy when it was written several centuries after Jesus died.

Reading the Bible as a scientific document says more about your intelligence than about the Bible.

      Try ignoring that.

And this is our point dumbass. You KNOW he was not referring to the physical existence of the bible.

Neither was I: I was referring to its content. As previously stated.

PS: Is "he" Seismosaur or ChaybaChayba? Because either way that sentence makes very little sense.
I was referring to Chayba, and it made sense when I was 10 posts behind

I can't keep up with you guys.

This is all overgeneralization. It is often when trouble rears it's head (when the comet shows up) that people pray to God the most. As for taking his name in vain I know many many many people who won't and don't.

Proving that the Bible is true by quoting the Bible is just crap.

Everything in the following sentence is true: DreamViews is a website about religion.

See that? See where I underlined? That means it's true.

I'd also like to share a short quote:

People praying to god is like a bee trying to pollinate a flower printed on wallpaper.

If God is real, why does he let war happen? Where was he during the Holocaust?

It's alright if you're an atheist...if you can list VALID reasons for not believing in God.

However, these reasons are NOT valid. They are just a simple rant that makes no real argument for or against the existence in said deity. It's all a bunch of opinion, and opinion does not a good argument make.

And to answer your prior question about why God "lets bad things happen", read this post of mine.

My reason? I've never seen God. That's a pretty strong argument.

I think you meant the antonym of strong; weak.

Seeing isn't believing. You can't disprove the existence of something that you can't see. I'll bet people thought the same thing about the existence of atoms, or the world not being flat, or the solar system being heliocentric. Boy, how foolish they must have been feeling...

Heaven was an excuse made up by religious people to justify suffering.

There is no objective evidence for or against the existence of a deity. In fact, all assertions on a deity's existence are not falsifiable due to special pleading (God has always existed/is omnipotent/etc). In this light, one can quite reasonably reject the notions of deities even in the agnostic sense. For me, there is no good reason for me to believe in a deity.

When people ask how God could've let so many bad things happen, like the holocaust, natural disasters, wars, tragic deaths etc, what they fail to see is that people were responsible for a lot of them. I believe there is some sort of God, but not in the sense that he/she has a physical form and can control everything. I believe in the omniscience of God, and not much more. Also, I don't think people were created in God's image. If anything, it was probably crocodiles that were created in His image, crocodiles kick ass. The modern ones have been around for 100 million years and are still kicking ass. I wouldn't mess with one. To assume that humans are the fruit of God's labor is arrogant in my opinion.
