I'm an atheist. I celebrate Christmas with my family because they are Christians.

Christmas was started from Hannakuh.... since Hannakuh is Jewish the Christians wanted to have it near the same time since nobody knows when Jesus was born....how was Christmas started from pagans???

Because Pagans celebrated the winter solstice roughly around the same time Christians celebrate Christmas. In order to make Christmas more appealing to already-established religions, Christians placed the birth of Jesus around the winter solstice. Many of the traditions were borrowed as well.

...no....they placed it there because that is when the Jews celebrate Hannakuh so they wanted to celebrate Christmas near the time Hannakuh is celebrated because that just makes sense. People believe Jesus was actually born in March....not December

No, Christmas comes from a mix of the Roman festival of Saturnalia, the feast of Sol Invictus and other festivals around the winter solstice.

By the time the date for Christmas was established (around the 4th century), Christianity had spread outward from the Levant and nobody cared about the relatively local Jewish customs.

The heathens were delighted with the festivals of their Gods, and unwilling to part with those delights; and therefore Gregory, to facilitate their conversion, instituted annual festivals to the Saints and Martyrs. Hence it came to pass, that for exploding the festivals of the heathens, the principal festivals of the Christians succeeded in their room: as the keeping of Christmas with ivy and feasting, and playing and sports, in the room of the Bacchanalia and Saturnalia; the celebrating of May-day with flowers, in the room of the Floralia; and the keeping of festivals to the Virgin Mary, John the Baptist, and divers of the Apostles, in the room of the solemnities at the entrance of the Sun into the signs of the Zodiac in the old Julian Calendar. In the same persecution of Decius, Cyprian ordered the passions of the Martyrs in Africa to be registred, in order to celebrate their memories annually with oblations and sacrifices: and Felix Bishop of Rome, a little after, as Platina relates, Martyrum gloria consulens, constituit at quotannis sacrificia eorum nomine celebrarentur; "consulting the glory of the Martyrs, ordained that sacrifices should be celebrated annually in their name." By the pleasures of these festivals the Christians increased much in number, and decreased as much in virtue, until they were purged and made white by the persecution of Dioclesian. This was the first step made in the Christian religion towards the veneration of the Martyrs: and tho it did not yet amount to an unlawful worship; yet it disposed the Christians towards such a further veneration of the dead, as in a short time ended in the invocation of Saints.

pro tip: hannukah isn't the main Jewish holiday. Nor has it really been a significant one until just recently, and still isn't among many Jewish people. Passover in the spring is the main holiday. Hannukah just gets toted about nowadays because Christmas is such a huge deal.

It's rumored atheist make holidays because they themselves don't know how special being with your family on the 25th really is. This of course is a rumor and besides what do I know about atheist and their personal activities.

Yeah man, those atheists are all part of like this super selective cult and are totally different from anything we can imagine. We should study them and learn more about their culture. I heard atheists come from atlantis. It's just a rumour though.

I heard atheists perform unspeakable acts with a goat or similar-sized mammal, fish or reptile on the second Thursday in March to avow their animal nature and commitment to physical pleasure.

      Is that really the reason?
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama

I like doing the horse sacrifice.

Okay but really, Christmas is so cultural. No one even cares about the religious aspect, oh which by the way is completely unoriginal, as spart noted.
