Thread: This brainwave entrainment session really messed me up

I haven't had much time to experiment with lucid dreaming in the last few years, but I used to do some experiments on brainwave entrainment, which worked pretty well. I decided to start up again, and found some old recordings I had done. I sadly don't remember where I got them from or have the source files (so I could know which frequencies they were using etc), but I tried one of them, which should supposedly help with achieving spiritual encounters.

I put it on repeat, inserted my earbuds and fell asleep. Four hours later I woke and felt extremely messed up. It took almost five days before I returned to normal sleep patterns. I had a lot of dreams in that period (and a ton I don't remember), but I'm not sure if I want to go through it again.

So I wondered if anyone would give it a try and write about it? Did it affect you in any way?

Just so you know, it's a rather large download (220Mb). At the time of posting I'm still uploading, with 1 hour to go (I don't know how dropbox acts if you try to download an incomplete file).

Something that messed you up for almost 5 days?? Why WOULDN'T I try that?!

Maybe it's because you put them on repeat.
There is a reason why they say that you shouldn't listen to them repeatedly...
Everytime you listen to such a file you should make a pause of at least 1 hour or otherwise they could mess up your brain.
I also had such experiences because I didn't listen to the advice and then I was really messed up for 2 days or so

I never saw those warnings, but I guess it makes sense. Had to learn it the hard way..

Anyway, I'll try it without repeat tonight, and it would be interesting if anyone else would give it a shot

I know what you mean, I always feel a little distorted after listening to one of those, but it only last a few seconds for me.

I've tried playing it two nights in a row now. The first night I had problems falling to sleep, and I woke up and thought it annoying, so only listened to about half and didn't have any dreams I could remember. However, this night I waited until I was about to doze off before I started playing it. I had a long, complex heavy dream that seemed to last the entire night.

However, I started sleeping around 00:30 and woke up around 03:30 (my kids were crying), so I had started the night off with heavy dreaming and had plenty more hours to spare! I then went to bed afterwards and can't remember any dreams after that.

It was a great experience, I wasn't lucid (and the dreams weren't really "spiritual" either) but I enjoyed it nevertheless. I'm going to play it again tonight, it'll be interesting to see if it has some effects this time!
