I've been deprivating sleep and am now facing strange hallucinations. It's like whe nyou wake up really early and have to stay awake:

I can hear voices (no not a speech, just a massive crowd speaking/yelling at me) which are really fuzzy.

Short-term memory is also strange. Suddenly I don't remember what I was doing, and then I do again.

My vision is narrowed and things I see seem far away.
I believe hypnic jerks could happen if I doze off.

Short periods of shutting down: i stop everythign I'm doing and go stationary.

It's hard to think of words to write. I try to find words that suit what I wanna say, but nothing comes to mind.

Also a strange feeling of mental tiredness, like I am really dizzy.

I cannot understand long sentences without reading them twice or more.

Finally it's way harder to locate typos in my text.

I'll post again if I find anything interesting to add.
Sorry if my english is bad and I'm talking nonsense, I'm really snoozy

I kind of feel like my vision perception is twisted. I know all I see is still, yet it's as if they were moving, getting bigger or smaller. I suppose the part of the brain responsible for vision has trouble t owork out a correct image, making your sight seem dizzy.

I was wondering if there would be a spike in HP-themed dreams this month, what with the movie coming out recently and the book just coming out last weekend. I know I've got things I want to dream about. . . .

Also, I've done 48+ hours with no problems - the hardest part is keeping myself occupied. It was much easier in college, especially one summer where I lived at school and worked part-time. I could lock myself in the house and be weird, and nobody else was around. No hallucinations or anything, though I do recommend against driving. Maybe I should try to find some time to go for 72 or more.

      HAH! quoted.

Yes pretty much like people speaking nothing. I know they speak, but it's not words (at least not clear words)

Well, I haven't slept last night. Does anyone notice funny lights? Well, I normally see funny lights when sleep deprived. Reminds me of looking at potassium burn. I just feel really dizzy and sick. Can I last another day?

The dizzyness is because your tired brain (probably) cannot work correctly anymore. That's the same reason why images you see may seem distorted, but if you actually look again they will look ok.

has anyone expirienced this? its like when u get up after laying down, watching tv or reading or something and u feel REALLY dizzy and something that looks like black lightning covers ur vision for all except the very center of your sight. for some reason i have those a lot and theyre ok. sometimes my legs almost give out when those happen and i just tip over. lol. its not a problem for me but im just wondering if anyone has these things besides me.

sometimes I feel so dizzy that I feel like I'm falling forever... like I'm i nan endless roller coster.

wendy, the small lights thing is HI I guess, just enhanced because you are sleepy.

anti_nation, I've experienced narrowed vision a lot of times. It's like something's covering to borders of my sight (although I cannot really see it).. I wonder why that happens.

A couple of years ago I was working 3 jobs because I decided that if I was going to be awake anyway that I might as well make money. (I have been an insomniac for about 10 years.) Anyway I would actually fall asleep while walking. My whole body would just collapse as I was walking along. I also would have to pull off the road 3 or 4 times on the way home and nap. People were laughing at me because I would fall asleep while talking to them.

hey people, I also noticed my ability of concentrating sucks when sleep deprivated

it is hard to form sentences because it's hard to think them over

so you usually trust your innate ability to speak and it goes out anyway xD

Having just begun a sleep schedule that requires some deprivation..at least for LD benefits...I can say that I'm having to look closely at every key now...it's rather hard to type properly.

lol bro don't worry you get used to it

I deeply believe that, to an extent, sleep deprivation boosts your senses. olyphasic sleep is able to do just that, but with no bad consequence

Exactly Kromoh! I think it does too...at least over time.

Perhaps it has something to do with primal instict...no sleep means staying aware of danger around ..forcing our body to function more sharply..just a thought.

Yeah bro, that's exactly what it is about xD but with polyphasic sleep you are actually resting, so there's no bad aspect to it.

In Polyphasic, you are living more, having more time to figure things out, and less sleep to forget em, so its pretty obvious u get more aware about things.
If life is a game, you are playing int four(or 2,6 and so on) hours more than other people and you get better then them.

maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan is it just me or it really feels comfortable to be deprivated of sleep?

It's like, your ability to concentrate sucks bad. But you are able to do the most amazing things without thinking them through. Might I add, even my English fluency sounds better when I read back my posts made when sleep deprivated - to think i did them all in such a careless way!

btw - traveling really messes with your sleep - even if you sleep through it. I really hate that. It's like getting tired of doing nothing.

      I'm hungry xD

now that you mention it it sort of does. its liek everything is like your involuntary muscles (such as your heart) you dont have to physically control it, you just do.

Yeah, it rocks hard. Even your opinions stay the same. Although, when you read back what you posted, it doesn't seem like it was you/you don't really remember doing it heh

I still believe that is awesome for self-evaluation ^^
