      DC Experiment (anyone tried this?)

Expanding on the idea of getting DCs to help you while you're lucid (which works really well), I was starting to wonder if it is possible for them to help you outside of the current dream. For example, I wonder if you can get them to:

      • Come find you in your next dream. (help chain LDs)
      • Help you remember your dreams when you wake up. (help recall)
      • Tell you how much time you have left, or...
      • Help you stabilize and prolong the current dream.

Has anyone asked a DC to do anything like that? If so, what did they do for you?

I've asked them to tell me to become lucid the next time I saw them, but they have yet to reappear.

As for asking them how much time you have left, that is probably not a good idea. For instance, if they tell you that you are about to wake up, chances are that the placebo effect will automatically wake you.

I called my "dream guide" this morning and told him to make me lucid next time. I am going to try it again tomorrow. The dream wasn't real good and I don't think my dream guide is the guy in my avatar.

It might be a while before I can try this, since I'm not quite that good at LDing yet. I think phrasing would be important in several of the cases, as Hazel said it might be disasterous to receive a response like "You'll wake up right about... now."

Maybe it would work if you suggested they appear in the next dream, or scene, or ... er... whatever you'd call it. That could function as a powerful dream sign. I get the feeling directly asking your subconscious to help you become lucid is a fruitless endeavour. You'll probably have to be a little crafty in your approach.

Forcing your subconscious to dream about a particular person?

Yeah. Less like forcing and more like subtly coercing

You can get things into your dreams through autosuggestion, but I figured it might be more effective to find a way to accomplish this from within a dream.

I tried that once, and it worked. The dream became magically stabilized, although before that it was getting distorted.

there was a task of the month that involved going into your room, and waking yourself up. Maybe we could put a spin on it.

Go and find or summon yourself, and tell yourself to get lucid next time, remember your dreams ect. Since it's you, it would seem to have more effect than just telling a random DC. But that's just me thinking.
