Or is it? I thought this would be a fun thread to host, to discuss the zombie apocalypse rumours (that I personally think are absolute bullshit.) There's been massive hype in the media recently, regarding the cannibalistic man, who was high on bath salts, supposedly just being a cover up on an actual zombie outbreak. I want you to; A) Call bullshit, or confirm the apocalypse. Provide reasoning to support your theory. B) Discuss your zombie apocalypse plan of action C) Choose your weapon, that would be most effective D) Rate your chance of survival

Old news is old. Nothing is going down besides drugs. How do I know? I was in frequent contact with the watch team that monitored police scanners in Florida/Georgia for three+ days after the event. Nothing went down at the hospital after the incident, and this sort of thing appears to be tame compared to other crap that goes down in Miami. Furthermore, unless they're involved, sharing your plan with people is a bad idea, 'cause if you know what you're doing, you'll be avoiding everyone. This is true for pretty much any end-of-the-world or disaster scenario. Stupid, frightened, un-prepared people are a liability to everyone they come in contact with. For anyone that takes emergency preparedness seriously--or even for those who'd simply rather be safe than sorry--put a bug-out-bag together. It'll up your chances of getting through a major disaster by...a lot. /thread?

Lol its kind of old news, but I heard about three drugs they said that we're responsible, and there are more than one occurrences of cannibalism, I heard of three cases of those. So I think that he was referring to the people saying its a conspiracy theory and the government are holding info so we don't panic that a real zombie apocalypse is gonna happen. But go ahead act like you know everything that he meant, I don't even know If I know or am close. Furthermore I think you should have different plans for different disasters I mean you wouldn't wanna go to the ocean if its flooding. I also don't see how telling people your Zombie Apocalypse escape plan can be unhelpful in any way because having more people in a zombie apocalypse is beneficial even if they're panicky because your cool head should be smart enough to know not to depend on them and let them get there selves killed. I'm gonna play along though A. Bullshit. B.My plan of action, Grab my Stuff, get my People together and head off to our designated spots in the Rockies C.I would need the Two Hand Axes I have and the Guns I have to get out of the civilised zone. D.I'd like to think I would have a pretty good chance, After I found out about the Zombies because it would suck to get snuck up on. Truthfully though trying to use my hand axes is where I would probably die.

I'm aware of the other cases and the numerous other "strange events" that seem indicative of an outbreak. But the general consensus from those who do take this sort of thing seriously is that there's nothing going on outside of the obvious. Furthermore I think you should have different plans for different disasters I mean you wouldn't wanna go to the ocean if its flooding. The details might be different, but prep-work is mostly the same. No matter what happens, you need to be able to survive without amenities for an indeterminate amount of time. Besides, even the CDC agrees that if you're prepared for a zombie outbreak, you're prepared for pretty much anything else disaster-wise. I also don't see how telling people your Zombie Apocalypse escape plan can be unhelpful in any way because having more people in a zombie apocalypse is beneficial even if they're panicky because your cool head should be smart enough to know not to depend on them and let them get there selves killed. That's just it. I wouldn't want anything to do with these sort of people, 'cause they're more liable to kill me than anything else. Which means I need to know of all the least likely places an average person would go to get supplies or seek shelter. Broadcasting that sort of intel defeats the purpose... What's more, I've got a pretty large number of contacts who've proven their value in survival and combat situations, so I really don't need panicky idiots slowing me down. Yeah...sorry if I come off as abrasive here, but I've been doing the whole zombie survival thing for years now. Ever hear of HvZ?

yeah dude who hasn't heard of HvZ? I just don't think that in a zombie outbreak there will be as much human v human as movies and games portray. I also would be trying to save the panicky most likely, I'm a pretty nice guy like that. oh yeah and I read that article from the CDC cracked me up.

When you've been "discussing zombie strategies" for four years--and lived most of them--it ceases to be a novelty. To me, points made by those without any sort of field experience or training seem trite, at best. So, you'll forgive my brashness, but I've seen first hand what can happen to people in these situations; I've lead groups, large and small, and been active on the bleeding edge of tactics vs. intelligent, fast-moving zeds that can kill you with a touch (every other variant of zombie is trivial in comparison). I've also got enough real-world survival training and knowledge to get by on my own for as long as I need to. Any sane person wouldn't fantasize about being in these sorts of situations. Nor would they focus on stockpiling guns or other weaponry, since avoidance, speed, and stealth are the key to survival.

Overconfidence? Hardly. I know exactly what my limits are, the typical limits of the average person, and the typical limits of the above-average person. The last thing I need to know is the type of zed I'll be up against and I'll be able to handle most situations.

The Zombie Apocalypse is more of a fun thing for people to discuss than an actual belief about the end of the world. In my opinion, it would be the coolest way to have the world end - it would be an epic bout of natural selection. I think, if it were to happen, only the strongest and the most able to survive the outbreak would live and be able to reproduce - and that not everyone would die... As far as my chances of surviving: Slim. I'm only 19 years old and haven't had time to build up an arsenal of weapons or construct a 10 foot reinforced wall around my property.

Hahahaha, nice! I was watching dawn of the dead last night actually xD I liked their tactic, barricading themselves on a high building, where the zombies couldn't reach, with a food source. They made a lot of irrational decisions later on though, I found it hard to believe they actually would have made it.
