Spawning? WTF?

Why do people talk about spawning all the time? Apparently as a synonym for summoning or creating DCs and objects. WTF? Why? Why must I be bombarded with mental images of fish jizz while reading about lucid dreaming? Darn kids! Devil spawn, all of them! Spawning! Dig it:

Seriously, where does that come from? It is disturbing on so many levels. Random quote from a DJ: Then I spawned a HUGE paper clip in my hand. Right. You held a huge paper clip in your hand and ejaculated onto it. I did not need to know this. Where you hoping to get a handful of tiny little paper clips? And he continues... I bent a sharp end in the air and stabbed a guy with it. Then I spawned an army Oh stop it before I am violently sick! I will Astral Projectile vomit onto your spawn!

This is actually pretty funny I had to read it twice before I understood what you were talking about! but that's English for you, so many homonyms. I would imagine it can be frustrating but the more you see the word in that context the less you will see it as fish reproducing.... maybe

But where does it come from? I bet it's a cartoon or a videogame, isn't it? It always is.

Minecraft is the first thing that springs to mind, though I imagine its much earlier than that.

@sibyline Well I don't know for sure But maybe it occurred from pop culture references. That's the beauty if languages they are always changing When I think I it I think of like a video game almost like sci-fi for being transported and appearing in a new place. But essentially that what they are referring to creating something from nothing. You can call human children your spawn but also spawn idea out of thin air but essentially it is all the same process, creating something from nothing.

It comes from video games lately, but this isn't a new definition or anything. I mean, Shakespeare used it the same way. "The gashes that bloodily did spawn upon his face" - pretty sure Shakespeare wasn't trying to compare head wounds to fish jizz.

Talking of weaponry: When trying to spawn firearms I find it easier just to imagine myself holding it and shooting it. If you try to make it spawn it wont be what you want it to be or it will be really hard to find when i try to spawn someone, it always spawn a monster or a fat and ugly version of that person. How can i spawn an exactly version of someone? Lol!

"bot_add_ct" or "bot_add_t" , that's how you spawn or if it's about weapons try "give [itemname] " Everyone knows that!
