Well, it would be a lot easier to read peoples posts if they wrote them properly. (Or at least tried)

If you had been paying attention, you would have noticed I've been keeping the nit-picking within the confines of this thread, which is clearly acceptable seeing as THAT'S THE THREAD'S BLOODY TITLE! thus, if one doesn't want his or her grammar open to criticism from me, then he or she best not post in this thread.

p is acceptable when trying to make that sentence stand out; when used frequently, it becomes too much of a distraction.

h

common spelling errors:

SEPARATE (not seperate)
DESPERATE (not desparate)
TOMORROW (not tommorow or tommorrow)
RECEIVE (not recieve)
IRRESISTIBLE (not irresistable)
CONGRATULATIONS (not congradulations)
FRUSTRATE (not frusterate; I used to make this mistake)
also, REOCCURRING
Note also that recur (to happen again) has one "c"; whereas occur (to happen once) has two "c's.

I am a grumpy grammar teacher who shall highlight things as being wrong even if they're right! Bwahahahahah!

it's happened to me...
This sentence is Grammatically incorrect. \"The 's in It's stands for \"is.\" Basically, you're saying \"It is happened to me\" When you should be saying. \"It has happened to me\" It is happened to me is not an alternative second-person present tense conjigation for the verb \"it is\".

See we all make mistakes right? Who the Hell is perfect in here I NEVER WANT TO SEE A THREAD LIKE THIS AGAIN CREATED!
Actually it has can be shortened to it's, my english teacher does that all the time

Well, I'll try and contribute to this thread too.

Here are some correct usages of "who" and "whom":

"Who ate the cookies?" "He did."
"Whom are you going to the prom with?" "I'm going with him."

I always remember that "who" goes with "he/she" and "whom" goes with "him/her".

My two cents: I couldn't respect myself if I started typing "tonight" as "2nite" or "anyone" as "ne1". I always edit my posts to make sure that they are spelled correctly, and are grammatically understandable.

if any thread should be ever bumped, this would be the one...read and learn people, read and learn
If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...
