This is one I made of a Manafi....a 4th Generation Pokemon.


I will soon be adding another emoticon as well.
BTW, I think I will try to make a sig like that LOTR one!!

Not really.
There are many differences between file extensions (I learned that in MM). Here, I will list some of them:

JPG/JPEG (ja Ae pu Eh Guh)- One of 2 file extensions that is compatible w/Internet useage. JPGs usually have smaller sizes than GIFs, and can use thousands of colors. JPEGs cannot be animated, though.
GIF (Juh IF)- People sometimes mistake these for movies, due to the animation in them, but they aren't movies at all, just little sprite animations.. GIFs can be animated or still, and can hold up to 256 colors. These files are Internet useage capatible, but tend to be a lot larger in file size than JPGs. GIFs are perfect for animated avatars, but have to be shrunken down quite a bit to be used (b/c one the max size of an avatar can be between 30-100 K).
BMP (B.M.P AKA Bitmap)- a common file name for scanned pictures, and pictures made in the paint program, but they cannot be used on the Internet, so in order to use them, you'll have to convert your BMP to a JPG or a GIF. Also, scanned pictures tend to be 8000x6000, and pictures lose quality when they are scanned, so watch out!!
SWF (S wa if)- A very commonly used filename for Flash Movies, but they tend to be ultra-high in memory, and most Webpage hosters won't let you have them in the first place. They can also be games as well, but are usually used in movies. These things can have many cool features, but cannot be used on this Forum!!
MOV (Move)- A quicktime movie, for those of you that don't have Flash, and don't like to wait forever for it to load. They tend to be a bit more realistic than SWFs. They still can take up quite a bit of memory.

GIFs were invented for sprites, mostly. They can be funny, sad, happy, angry, or sick. You may make whatever you wish w/one!
