During the breakdown, he shows that he does more than just play fast. The break is slow, and sounds great. You can see him get lost in the sound, while he's going through it. To say he "has no soul" because he's playing a fast song is pretty premature, seeing as how you're judging him on a fast song, and not really hearing him play anything soulful (aside from the break, which sounds pretty good to me).

But, of course, it's the age-old debate. Speed players will say that slower, more soulful players are playing "easy" pieces. Slower, more soulful players will say that speed players are playing pieces with "no soul." I tend to find the merit in the two, because to act as if both styles don't have their own ups and downs is a fallacy.

I'd say if you can get SRV and do both, thats when you know you kick ass
