If you've read any of Max Brook's books about zombies, then you'd know that's not such a good idea. Big ships mean big chances of infection, and an outbreak in the middle of the ocean isn't going to be fun.

Maybe if you were on a small, armoured yacht with high sides (zombies can swim) and lots of provisions, and a small select group of friends who you trust to not be infected. Then you could make shore raids for provisions every now and then, aswell.

If you acted like a zombie would they know, the 28 days later zombies i would shit my self, they run like athletes and dont get tired.

How exactly do you plan on taking a battleship away from the Navy Sailors who currently occupy it?

I'd turn off the TV and pack as much food and clothing as I can in 15 minutes, while calling all of my friends and close relatives and telling them to do the same. I'd gather up every bladed weapon I have and throw it all on the back of the truck. If I already had my daughter, I wouldn't have to worry about that, but if I didn't, I'd drive out to her mom's house and get her. After that, I'd probably ride out to my Uncle's house and buy a few guns from him.

Now, after that, I'm not sure where I'd go. Some place sturdy with not too many ways in or out that can't be steadily guarded, preferably some place with internet access, so I can do some research on how wide-spread the infection is. I still haven't seen 28 Days Later (gotta put that on my list) so I don't know too much about the running zombies. They sounds pretty hardcore, though. I know people say that die after 2 months, but is that if they don't feed, or just period? If feeding keeps them alive, then that 2 months thing doesn't really mean very much.

Personally, I'd rather deal with the slower-moving zombies. They may have a longer undead-span, but I believe I'd have a much better chance of surviving against them than zombies that sprint.

If it is 28 Days Later zombies, we might aswell jump from some place high, since we're already dead.

If they are shaun of the dead zombies, you can just pretend to be one of them. Sorted.

They do not feel the need to eat, which is why they have the 2 month life span, but they do have and extreme primal urge to TASTE human flesh.
EDIT: Oh, and forgot. The "Rage virus" that makes these people zombies is EXTREMELY contagious. It can be transmitted through something even as small as scratching yourself on something that had a little bit of the "Zombie's" blood on, which makes using anything other than guns on said zombies fairly dangerous. And the time it takes to take you over and make you one of them takes a a 1 minute or so, thats when you choose to either cut off the extremity that was infected or be one of them. I'm done talking now, since you haven't seen it yet don't wanna ruin it. If ya wanna know anything else let me know, I really like that movie and am really board

I would gather a small force of seven others. I have five in my family, so that leaves two more to find if we all happen to be together. I figure eight people is not so many that we'd have problems feeding ourselves and we could transport ourselves easily enough, and large enough that we would be able to set watches during the night without much of a problem and defend ourselves against the onslaught.

After assembling said group, our first priority would be to find a defendable location, preferrably some place with walls and a fair amount of wide-open space around all sides. Some razor wire surrounding the base would be a start, I think.

I would gather together as many grenades as I could put in the trunk of my car. Zombies often attack in groups, so this would maximize the amount of zombies I could kill and also potentially clear a path for my squad to escape. As someone said before, I would use sniper rifles to pick off the zombies before they got close. I would have a few rifles on hand in case they came a few at a time and grenade's effectiveness would be minimized. Then, each member of the squad would be equipped with both a club and a sword, just in case one became irremovable or taken away from them.

In a not-so-perfect world, we'd gather up anything that could be used as a weapon (swords, knives, bow and arrow, frying pans, lighter fluid, matches, rope, chains, nails, power tools, etc.) and move it to our base. Then, after we had established said base, priority #2 would be to find water rations to wait out the zombie invasion. Bottled water and canned food. Nothing that could already be contaminated and would be likely to resist contamination.

Once we had established a base, ironed out schedules for the watch, and decided on a battle plan for when the zombies showed up, we would make plans for a second base. If the first base falls or we receive a continual onslaught, we will need somewhere to escape. Also, a second base would be useful in case a group of untainted humans came along and needed a place to stay. My plan includes eight people and it's going to stay eight people. We'll get you started, but you're on your own from there.


(But in reality, I'd tell my family I loved them, get together with a group of people who were still normal, keep my knives close, and hope for the best.)

ok i watched 28 days later, No freaking way in hell is my first plan gonna work. those bitches were moving faster than i could run, well i could outrun them for 4 minutes, thats it. i would have a bandana(scarf) over my face and a shotgun. prefer a .22 at longer range. like Amethyst Star hinted theres no way no get your hands on a gernade so staying away is the best idea. if a break-out happened i would load my truck with bottled water, canned food, rifles, shotguns, hopefully a pistol, blankets and drive drive drive. even though i live in the country its still to populated. i'd head to east washington (no one except hicks there). set up a base in someones house and pick off the zombies as they came. being in a barrien area makes it easier to see whats coming, as long as theres not 30 of those thing high-tailing there ass to me i'd be able to kill them.


great idea of a thread, love to see everyones plan, but really what would you do? streets are gonna be packed making it wasy to be bitten. roads are a bad idea. being realistic I would be on my country house with a loaded shotgun and .22. nothing is getting on my roof. i'd be shit scared shooting everything i see. what could you really do? for you city people I dont think you can leave the city with eveyone trying to get out.

I wasn't exaggerating when I said I would lock myself in my neighbors bomb shelter . My neighbors are gone from their house 99% of the time so I could just slip on in and lock the door. Its got enough food and water in their to last me for months. Plus taking a radio down there with me would help me get any idea if the situation of things.

well then you'd be one luckly S.O.B, hell I'd join you with a setup like that.but you would like to keep the food to yourself i think.

I have plenty of guns, not sure where I'd go though. I'd have to pay attention to the radio, TV, and internet to try to find a zombie shelter.

you think the president is gonna let you in? if they can keep zombies out im sure as hell they can keep people out. bad idea, remember other people will think that to and thats just putting everyone in one place.

You'd probably be better off if you made it to a military base. Even if they don't let you in, there's the chance of sneaking in... So know where your nearest military base is and how to get there!

You know, I might start selling "Zombie Preparedness Kits." They'll tell you what kind of supplies to have on hand, which weapons to keep nearby, where to make your stand, and how to avoid being infected. I bet people would buy them. (And if they're already on the market, I'll just have to make mine even better.)

I guess grabbing some riot control gear somewhere is an option. Perhaps combine it with an MP5, or another small submachinegun. Can always have the riot control gear ready, if there's a need for it at my already planned hideout.
