Jdea is the last person I'd put forward to discuss the maturity and intelligence of younger members.

I think the age limit is sensible. I think it's generally agreed that the more intelligent of the underage members who ignore the rule have the sense to lay low or act sensibly, so it hardly poses a serious obstacle for valuable members.

Perhaps the recommended age for attempting lucid dreaming should be considered, though. You can hardly ask children to engage in irregular sleeping patterns, or the like. Children needs sleep.

Anyway, the limit is 15 rather because of the content that they give us, than the content we give to them.

13 year old kids are basically idiots, they can't spell, they use stupid abbreviations (asshattery like "u, idk, bbf" etc) and much else. Also, 13 year olds like to voice their opinion and post a lot. Actually most people do, but the thing is, that these kids post BEFORE they actually think about what they're saying. As in, they post and post and post, then they apologize when they get criticized and bashed by people with experience.

Bottomline: Dreamviews is a forum that consists of mostly mature people, and just about all kids below the age of 15 are either new to the internet, or they are immature.
By setting this age limit, we can keep them out so we don't have to bash them for being complete idiots, and to avoid useless and generally stupid posts.

Now, I realize that many people above the age of 15 can be immature and stupid aswell, (I could for instance mention a lot of people here on DV, that mostly spout out stupid and useless carebear/help me/I-can't-do-anything-myself posts, though I'll refrain from that) but that people below the age of 15 actually can be rather mature and experienced with the internet. An example would be Sean. You haven't been that much of a problem

Also, one of the basic tests of checking people's brains here on DV, is when people post their age. We've caught plenty of people saying they're 14 or 13, and they get banned

I hope this post wasn't too much of a blur =P

I apologize too. I am really 13, but I have been making everybody think I am 36. I joined the site when I was 9. Sorry about that. Suckers.
How do you know you are not dreaming right now?

Can I quote something without them deleting their posts making me look like an idiot?

I agree with Mos. I've only seen those "immature times."

Oh the age limit is there for a reason, by the way.

The number of Wanted duplicate accounts literally has it's own page on the banned users list in the admin control panel.

We recently banned one a few hours ago...

      I'm from Vancouver.

Thanks for all the replies guys (however off-topic some of them may be ). You can continue posting in here, but I think we should just let this die now.

Knowing these people, you're better off private messaging an administater, members in Red. He or she will lock it for you.

I mean, in the past for example, I private messaged Wavefunction and asked him to lock my thread ages ago because idiots kept posting on it. I recommend you contact an admin if you want the thread to die out.

      Wanted is a funni gai.

When you talk to him you get the picture of a Giant Cuddly Teddy bear holding a bloodstained knife and machine gun behind the computer console.

      The blood is fake, though.

Simply showing you a list of his duplicate accounts' names would be self explanatory. Actually I've never had a decent conversation since whenever I enter the chat he swears at me. And it's not just because I'm going to ban him, because he acts that way towards other people too.

      Wanted is a long story.

      It involves drug abuse.

      You get it.

Thread locked by original poster's request.

And yes, locking a thread is a great way to get the last word in. Unless you're arguing with a staff member, in which case it does nothing.
