Is it wierd? It makes me sad.

Is it wierd that I get depressed when I think about the future and all the important shit I'm going to miss out on? I mean, inter-planatary colonization and flying cars. The discovery (or being discovered) by aliens and the acceptance of stem cell research. It depresses the FUCK out of my every month or so.

I don't know why I posted this in Senseless Banter. I'm being serious here. I have always thought that our age is a transition age, and only the bare beginning of technology and what is has to offer. We ARE just the beginning. Recent findings ARE the future. A future we will never see. Now you see why I am depressed.

Are you upset that you wont be there when it first happens or that you wont be there to experience all the benifits beyond just the first time?

Both. I want to be around when all that shit happens. See, we have reached a stalemate in the aforementioned tasks. We can understand how it would be possible, but just can't make it work now.

Be happy with what you have. It's just your ego which wants "more".

It's my ego telling me I would like to be around to see my Great Grandkids.

Lol Seis don't be a troll.

What Wer was saying is that the situation is like a tub of different flavored ice cream in one house with six people. You get a bite and that is about it. You get what you get and there is really no way you can get more...so be happy with you have, besides your not so important that you deserve more ice cream than the rest of the people that ate the other bites.

Also the future will suck because the internet is going to under go horrible restriction some day soon. Soon being in years not days lol... Without the internet I would freaking kill myself.

TOO weird. Had the EXACT same thought yesterday. Not depressed or anything, but definitely kinda..."sad?" that I would be entering old age and passing, JUST as all this amazing stuff was on the verge of occurring.

The solution to your problem is simple. If you want to see these things in your lifetime, you've got to make them happen. Perhaps everybody thinks like you, as if the future were some passive experience. And if that were the case, if everyone was an observer, the future they wait for will never come.

      You Are Half/Dreaming.

The future does not exist. The past does not exist. Eternity; Now exists.

What if there is no future? Or what if the future is miserable?

Why ponder on the future so much? You don't know what will happen...
Don't be depressed yet, wait a few decades, then we will see if it's worth being all stoked about or not.

Enjoy the now! ....while we have it.

"Life" isn't a one chance thing. This society seems to be convinced it is, but it can't be further from the truth. You live many, many lives. You just can't remember that right now, it would ruin the point of being encased in your body and subject to this worlds rules.

Now go ahead and go at me :-)

Wow fuck, what happened to living?

All this talk of tomorrow and yesterday.

Everyone seems to be missing reality.

My yesterdays and tomorrows have and will, respectively, suck. My now is in a constant state of blows as well.

Illusions. "Your" Now, as "ours", can never "suck"/"blow".

      With or without.

      This or that.

Leave both aside. Leave all and nothing.

In death, in life. So that you may be.

      Be/not be.

      Just.

I wonder whether you'd do this when going on a date also.

"Say, do you really like me?"

      "Tit or tat

      With or without.

      Yes/no.

      Just."

"So, which movie do you want to see?"

      "This or that.

      Both. Nothing.

      Just."

But anyways, back on topic: no, it isn't weird. I'm feeling a bit frustrated/sad also whenever I think of space exploration, colonies on the terraformed mars, etc. If I could, I'd really wanna be there. But alas. I'd say the chance is very slim I actually would be. I'd say just get over it and make the most of the time we have now. We can have a great life even without flying cars and space monsters.

      Intelligence, foolishness.

      Yes/No.

      With or without words.

Leave it all aside, and live.

      Live/die.

Well by the time I'm a ripe old age, life extending operations will be availible.
Question: Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
      Answer: Neither, single-celled organisms did.
