There's a few people I know who are hyper intelligent, and I like talking with them, but they get awkward... any kind of pop culture reference, any topic that isn't directly about their current project and they clam up and just aren't able to hold a conversation at all.
I know that's not a rule, there are very smart people who aren't awkward, but in my experience that's been the case.
