-Your brother voted for the first time today

Really.... He said he was going to vote for Obama because he's black.
-Hmmm...

Did YOU vote?
-Yes.

Who did you vote for?
-I'm not telling.

Come on, what could I do?
-I didn't vote for Obama.

You voted for McCain?
-Yes.

What, you don't want a black president?
-I don't think democrats can handle money.

*internal gasp* You know about that 850 billion dollar thing?
-No. *turns and begins walking down hallway toward kitchen*

-Do you believe everything you read on the internet?

-Where did you get it?

I got it from the TV, internet... Everywhere. Seriously mom, that is an insult to my intelligence.

Not only does she know far less about current events and politics, but she also completely discredited my reliable internet sources and the internet as a whole as if it didn't have any reliable information whatsoever...

Meh, don't be mad at her for it. We know lots of things our parents don't, and they know lots of things WE don't. Just how it is.

I said that to her, but I was joking when I said so.

Then yeah, I know the feeling when all the person your debating against will do is bash your sources and refuse to clash with your point or bring up counter-evidence but insist that they are right.

My parents do that all the time...

First off, I rarely read blogs, I read news, opinions, editorials, forums etc... then I EDUCATE myself through a person's history whatnot, I make an informed opinion.

I always strike back, "Well at least I try to make an informed decision and I don't vote for the same Red color candidates 100&#37; of the time just because you feel like it. When was the last time you tried to learn about the candidates other than what you've seen on the 6:00 news?"

We get into a fight and I end up having to apologize for not liking when people insult me like that.
