DV Community Elimination Game to Cut Scores? -> You Decide!

Hi gang, I want to thank you all for actively being involved in that "viral" game in SB. It's taken off and has rocket success so far. However, I think we are at a tipping point which I was made aware of quite early on in the game... Aside from a few names...it seems as if there's no man left standing, only gods. The ones in crimson red are still in quite a bit of danger and therefore still susceptible to swift deaths...damn mortals. [Record of scores taken as of 1/07/09 at 9:33 AM CST GM time] Community Adam----------------19 Amethyst Star-------40 Clairity---------------35 Elis D.----------------21 Jeff777-------------- 39 kichu----------------41 Kromoh--------------40 Kushna Mufeed-------12 Mes Tarrant---------34 Siиdяed-------------15 slayer--------------32 Staff Howie--------------- 36 Man of Steel--------- 41 Oneironaut---------- 40 Snowy Egypt---------23 Xox----------------- 38 Killings will take an unfathomable amount of time to bring someone down from a score of 30+, especially if those minuses are quickly negated by someone else. Therefore YOU have an important decision to make... Force these gods to become mortal yet again? Or leave them to sit high above their gold embossed thrones? Cutting everyone's scores in half will return this game back to an earlier state where kills were made very swiftly...and noone was safe. You have ONE week as of this post to decide and cast your vote. For those who say they worked for their scores and it won't be fair: Everyone's scores will be cut, sounds quite fair to me. For those who are undecided: I ask you this question...which is easier? To bring down a group of people who're currently at 30 who'll revert to 15 after one week? Or to continue on without any score wipes and try to bring down a group of people who are at 100? Our fates, are in your hands.... Edit: Scores will be rounded to next highest number. For example, if your score is 15, it will revert to 8 (instead of 7.5)

will the cut be rounded up or down? Good question, thanks for bringing that up nn . The scores (to remain as fair as possible) will be rounded up. If someone's score is at 15, their new score after one week will revert to 8.

somone suggested back a while ago, that we should take one point away from everyone whenever a user dies. thoughts? i was thinking this might be even more fair. That might work but I couldn't see it fairing too well. Judging by the simple mistakes (ie people inaccurately changing score numbers to correspond with their vote) I don't think we all should have the power to change everyone's scores per kill. I foresee a lot of room for misery via innumerable mistakes in that one.

Whereas if a person who only had 5 points were to lose 10 points (according to your suggestion) they would be out of the game. Half would put them at 3 (when rounding). It's just fair that everyone gets cut in half. Because half wouldn't hurt anyone seeing as it would coincide perfectly with whatever the person's current score is. If John Doe's score was 100, half would be 50. Not hurting him too much, and taking a huge chunk out of him so that he's not immortal (though 50 is still pretty damn hard to bring down). Edit: At any rate...the decision is entirely up to the community, which is why everyone has 7 days to vote on this. If the "No" voters win then the game will continue as is. If the "Yes" voters continue, then immediately after the poll closes (within 7 days from THIS post) the next vote in the game will be one done with score cuts. My suggestion? Get people to increase your score as much as possible within 7 days.

I think they should, as sooner or later, one person would end up with like 70+ votes and would be impossible to lose. Cutting scores will make things much faster.

If in the end we actually do this, any points we put into the game afterwards, will be essentially robbed of half their value. more optimisictally, all votes before this happens will have twice as much value as those after the cut, so... if we are going to collectively kill somone, it will be easier if we focus on it now.

I propose some alternative to speed the game up. I just think that cutting everything in half will make the game end much faster than we want. What we really need to do is unite even more than before and just start attacking people.
