It is possible, I actually just posted something explaining how. You have to train your PC muscle in conjunction with other exercises. Once you get to a certain point you contract your PC muscle until the urge to ejaculate subsides.

Look up kegel exercises, google "male multiple orgasm," and get familiar with the feeling of stopping your urine mid-stream. If you commit to it, not only can you refrain from ejaculating, but also be able to orgasm repeatedly. It really is quite amazing.

Did you also get to the part of the article that says NOTHING ABOUT THE PELVIC FLOOR MUSCLES? Yeah...google "male multiple orgasm." Assuming you don't apply pressure to the perineum, you ought to be just fine.

I'm talking about strengthening the pelvic floor muscles through kegel exercises (look up a lamas class). When they're sufficiently strong, you can refrain from ejaculating simply by flexing at the critical moment. For the love of...here. Also use wikipedia.

Perhaps my sources are balls, because it is Wikipedia that ENDORSES said method in the "Orgasm" article:

One technique is to put pressure on the perineum, about halfway between the scrotum and the anus, just before ejaculating to prevent ejaculation. This can, however, lead to retrograde ejaculation, i.e., redirecting semen into the urinary bladder rather than through the urethra to the outside. It may also cause long term damage due to the pressure put on the nerves and blood vessels in the perineum...

If the original technique you people were talking about before did not involve any of that (and if what Wiki is saying is completely bogus), I apologize for the lapse in communication, for that was the only technique I was aware of...at the time.
