I have a suggestion. Make it a rule that the moderator who patrols Senseless Banter has to have more of a sense of humor than a bowling ball. Maybe you could give a sense of humor test to each candidate and see if they can beat a bowling ball? Having that standard would help get things going better in that forum.

I thought that SB was 99% un-moderated. Once upon a time it was. Senseless Banter is supposed to be a fun, light hearted, playful comedy forum, and the moderation in it has recently gotten far too serious. I think somebody like Mark75 would be a great moderator for it. It should be somebody who has a proven high quality sense of humor, who understands what satire is, and who knows the difference between completely random babble and artful nonsense. That kind of understanding is not present in the current moderation faction. This "too senseless for senseless" rule doesn't make sense any way. If a thread is really so lame and without artistic value, it will die on its own in a hurry. If the thread keeps going, it shows that people see merit in it. If they see merit in it, why screw with them???? What's the problem with letting the thread keep going as it is? If people are having fun with it, it should be left alone by staff, unless a member is truly being verbally abused without just cause, in which case the abuser can be warned or something. It is a forum that barely even needs a moderator at all, but lately it has been treated like it is a church news letter or something.

If Man of Steel, Jeff, Seeker, or Alex will give me the stars, I will be the moderator of Senseless Banter. They don't even have to teach me any of the technological special tricks. Just once every six months or so when somebody in that forum does something that is really that big of a deal, I will send a PM and warn the individual to chill out. If he ignores the warning and needs to be put in time out or whatever, I will PM an admin and let him do whatever. That sounds great. Then again, you could just trade positions with somebody so that a Senseless Banter minded person moderates that forum. You're not really the Senseless Banter type. Don't you agree? I mean, have you ever once started a silly thread in Senseless Banter? I don't recall any. So, why do you moderate it? It's not your area. You should be working one of the dreaming forums or Beyond Dreaming, or maybe The Lounge, Entertainment, or Ask Me/Tell Me About. That is much more your style. I have seen you make jokes here, but not Senseless Banter style jokes. My guess is that you are not a fan of Monty Python movies. Is that right? You might like Adam Sandler and American Pie movies, but you are obviously not into the absurdist and nonsensical style of comedy that shows up so much in Senseless Banter. Different strokes for different folks.
