Exclamation I need help getting rest...

I started suddenly remembering 5 or so dreams per night a week and a half ago, waking up in the middle of the night between dreams. I didn't think much about it at first, but now I think I have a bit of a problem on my hands. I haven't been waking up in the middle of the night for the past week, but I also haven't been getting rest. I've slept more than I usually do, and each morning I just wake up more tired. I'm being drained of energy almost as if I haven't been sleeping at all, and I need to figure out how to get some real rest as soon as possible. If you have had any experience with this before, or have a suggestion, I would appreciate it greatly.

What is your sleep schedule like? When do you go to sleep, for how long, etc.

      Are you getting exercise?

Also, I find that sleeping too long makes me more tired. I aim for 6 to 7 1/2 hours.

I tend to go to bed at about 10, even though I only actually begin falling asleep at 11, and wake up at 6 in the morning. I don't usually get much exercise, but lately I have been getting out more.

7 hours is a good amount of time, so I don't think problem lies there.

Exercise may be the cause then. Try going for a 30 minute run or swim, something that gives you cardiovascular exercise. This should actually give you energy for the rest of the day, as well as give you a better quality rest. It's hugely beneficial mentally as well as biologically.

When you wake up in the morning, does it seem like you wake up in the middle of a dream? Just after a dream? Can't remember any dreams? Do you have to get up at that specific time, or is it a choice?

The reason I ask is because the point at which you wake from your sleep cycle is extremely important in determining how rested you feel.

If you're still very tired after 7 hours...I suggest trying to sleep an additional half hour.

Could be also the serotonin level. At winter time there is less sun light ( which falling into our eye lids creates serotonin ) When going to sleep, serotonin is converted into melatonin which is know to be a sleep hormone. So if you are leading gnome-style life that could be a reason.

Other thing that cames into my mind is food. Remember not to eat much before sleep. Are you eating healty food? Maybe your lacking some vitamins / minerals? Maybe some vitamin complex will help.

Yoga is also a good thing. It relaxes, revitalizes and energizes body and mind. Remember that too much phisical excersise will also cause too deep sleep and drowsyness. You need to find the right balance ( as always with everything)

      Good luck!
