      I could hear my heart beating very fast when i tried to sleep

      So last night when I laid down to go to sleep i could hear my heart starts beating faster and faster I tried to ignore it but it wont go away and i could feel my body vibrating, does anybody know what this is?

      Although it's possible that it could be REM atonia, if you believe it to be dangerous or it continues happening, I would see a doctor about it.

      Indeed, It could be REM atonia, or may be not. But I think precaution is best so, consult to a professional doctor & take care.

      i got that once too! not sure if it is REM atonia, but it could be. I think mine is because excitements of lucid dreaming.

      I experience that a lot if my mind is too active when I'm trying to sleep. It's pretty much like your body is going to sleep, but your mind hasn't quite caught up with it yet. For me, I usually get the increased heart rate when I feel my body getting toward that sleep state, because I'm over excited that it might become a WILD.

      I think you're just imagining it. It's happened to me while trying to WILD before. I think it's the same type of thing that happens when people are on certain drugs, like pot, and they're sure their heart is beating really fast and they're going to die, while really they're imagining it or their perception of time is distorted.
