Thread: Sleep paralysis and CT test

Hello people,

My name's Meiri and i hope you can help me with my issue.

I've been having sleep paralysis for about 5 years now. The thing is, they only occur when i go to sleep during the noon-afternoon, and every time i go to sleep during the noon-afternoon. Rarely do they happen when i go to sleep a full, healthy sleep at nights; maybe once a year or so.

I went to a neurologist and he told me that it's rare, but it happens and mostly i'ts nothing to worry about. Being a hypochondriac, i asked him if it could have any correlation to a brain tumor, to which he replied "there are really slim chances, but i can give you a CT test if you want."

Now for my questions:
1. What do you think about him giving me the CT test? If it wasn't a thing to worry about, wouldn't he not consider to give me the CT test?
2. I've read that CT tests produce a large amount of radiation which enhances the chances of getting cancer, should i do the CT so i can assure nothing is wrong or shouldn't i, because i probably have nothing and the only thing i can get is an enhanced cancer risk?

I realize i might sound too fearful but that's just the way i am...

(I don't smoke, i rarely drink and i exercise regularly).
