      Ringing in your ears?

How many other people experience it? I just recently found out its a symptom, with an actual name; Tinnitus. Here if your interested; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tinnitus

I just recently realized that this constant ringing in my ears (usually only audible when in total silence) was the cause of a lot of my psychological problems when i was a kid. nothing major, just anxiety and such. now its tolerable, and slowly becoming more controllable.

i used to try and ignore it, but in doing so, made me pay more attention to it. this coupled with slight ocd wasnt very good, and often left me feeling literally insane.

but now it seems ok. im stronger mentally now i am older and understand it.
i find the noice quite distracting still tho, and i usually have to have a background noise playing, usually just the radio, to distract me from the sound while falling asleep..

just wondering if people experience trouble with ringing, or even use it to their advantage to sleep or lucid dream?

I have pretty bad tinnitus from listening to music, playing shows at 500Watts, and other band situations.

It doesnt' bother me at all. It's only bothered me once at night. You learn to tune it out.

I also have it and it tend to decrease as i m working on myself and taking out emotional trach.

I had also a girlfriend who experienced it also, she had a realy stressfull childhood like me and she menaged to get rid of it by releasing her emotional tention.

I don t usualy pay much attention to it, it doesn t bother me, only if i lay in my bed listening to it.

How could we make it a advantage to lucid dreaming in your opinion ?

Well in fact, that could be a reality check as I can t hear it in my dreams.

Mine is due to noise. I work in a factory. I have taken to wearing ear plugs most of the time. Listening to music or audio-books makes one forget it.

Of course, it would not hurt if I could find me a young breeder who would fill the house with noisy kids, then I wouldn't notice it at all.

Loud music, playing music, job, etc... I've had it for years. It's not severe, but it's an annoyance, and why I usually have a soft sound in the background while I sleep to get it out of my head or I can't sleep well.
