Thread: So I was GOING to buy a new itouch...

...Turns out, apple's jacked up the prices so I won't be able to afford one for some time now. I don't see the point of playing minigames or videochatting with other people using an mp3 player. I just want to play my music.

And the new 8G ones are a whopping $250.00 canadian, mostly because of useless new features like video recording and realtime chat, that I don't give a fock about. Anyone else feel the same way?

Why not look at alternative players from Creative or Sony or something? I really don't get that Apple fad, Creative's products are atleast as good and much more reasonably priced. Why'd you go Apple, then?

If you want an iPod just for music, get the shuffle/nano/classic. The touch is really just for all the apps/videos. Apple generally makes good stuff but is ALWAYS overpriced.

Well, I'm only in it for the music and the fact that you can watch videos practically on-the-go. I have seven or eight television episodes, four movies, and lots of podcasts on my itunes.

Yep... Apple has gotten way to ridicules with their products, and its getting on my nerves. If I want to play a game or video freaking chat with someone, I'll buy a laptop for 2-3 times the price. It might cost more, but it can do more. A lot more, like you know, watch flash clips and games.

I'll bet if you go to an Apple store and ask for the old model they'd give it to you

The most irritating thing about iPods is how they try to control your own files; you can't just 'get them back out' of the iPod for easy file transfer.

Most other mp3 players however are essentially just hard drives with audio output.

Not with Itunes... cause Apple are a bunch of stupid [Lots of Swearing and Apple bashing]

But there are programs out there that can retrieve your songs.
