Revolutionary toothbrush may signal end of toothpaste.

      Article

Something about this makes me a little uncomfortable.
If it works, I'll try it, though!

I had one of those sonicare brushes for a while. They look similar, but work differently.

Sounds about as legit as ionic air cleaners and magnet therapy bracelets.

Hey now, don't diss the magnetic therapy bracelets. I used to have headaches all the time, and then I got this bracelet... oh, and I started taking Advil, too, but I don't think that actually did anything.

I pick up a half-eaten copy of a book by Neil Gaiman, and decide this is all his fault.

This is pretty cool. I'd totally buy one, since if they actually work, you'll be saving a lot of money.

A friend of mine got magnet therapy to correct his stance or something. Supposedly it worked, though it looked a little funny. Basically he had a magnet under a round band aid on the side of his head.

Placebo actually DOES work in many cases. Placebo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Haha. Nice. Small price to pay, though (looking a bit like a fool), if the shit works!

If it works, isn't hurting your health, and is not exorbanantly expensive, why bother with 'why' it works, right?

Yea I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was placebo more than anything. If you get told "when you stand, you're leaning too much towards one side" and then get some magnet taped on your head, you will probably just subconsciously correct your stance, though the magnet will make you think that it did all the work.

I think I will try this at the mall, but with a bar of soap they think is a magnet.

Causing a chemical reaction with the acid in your mouth, that breaks down plaque does seem plausible. I don't see any immediate reason to believe that its totally impossible. The first question that does come to mind however, is does it also break down tooth enamel as well. Which you don't want.
